A Vauban fort (Part 4) The city in the walls

This is the final part of a 4-fold topic of my Vauban fort project

Here I would like to focus more on the paper city I created to go with the Vauban fort. I have an obsession with half-timbered houses and I would like to share this work that lasted from 2012 to 2014. Many pics taken, I hope you'll enjoy them.

Now and then we had a hope that if we lived and were good, God would permit us to be pirates. – Mark Twain, Life on the Mississippi

Cardboard and Photoshopped paper, many hours of work overnight to search for suitable photos and design various house plans and many more to give them shape. I hope you'll find the result quite realistic.

The "Rathaus" Inn. Beautiful fonts I found, embedded on the wall with the aid of Photoshop.

A paper fountain. Miltiades added a fishing line to imitate springing water.
I was very happy when I finished the design of this fountain!
Paper, yet I put my best efforts to make it look quite like real water...

Half timbered facades. Some from real pictures, some designed by myself.

A ravelin with heavy wounds from trenches of a failed siege...
