Do the warbases buildings actually have bricks etched into them? I couldn't really tell from the photos.
For £12 they are a right bargain!

The bricks are etched as are the doors and windows, the garden wall pieces and the outhouse are all etched and really do look great. The only thing I am not as pleased with is the windows but only cos I cant paint a decent window type effect,so I'm in the process of changing them. I REALLY like these buildings!!

That looks ace, thanks for posting. How does the backyard look?

Not bad for the price, shame about the work to be done on the roof.

Looks good, in my mind I'm seeing a street now, with shops and a pub.

Received mine today, and I must say its an absolutely cracking building for your money.
And a great boon for those of us, like me, who lack the skill to scratchbuild their own,  :).
Not sure how to paint it without obscuring the details though. Will have to experiment...

Makes a decent London with a reasonable number of buildings viable, mixed with the Outpost ones.

Still, a chap ought to look smart in front of the men, don't you think?

Sorry I have changed my mind I am not a convert anymore.
I seen these, in the flesh, at Cannonade in Falkirk yesterday and there are a lot of things I don’t like about them.
Even though the Brick work is etched there is no texture on the faces of the bricks. It has just been cut into flat wood. Even new real houses have texture on the brick so I am afraid it just doesn’t look right. Needs some type of texture added. Not to sure how this could be achieved. With softer material, foam etc, I have used a rough stone pressed into the surface to make some texture. Not sure if that would work with the wood?
As mentioned above the roof is just a flat bit of wood so you need to add your own tiles.
I don’t like the windows or doors. Being etched they are a bit flat. They would need a very good paint job just to look half good. It maybe a better idea just to supply the building with the doors and windows cut out so that you can put in your own.
The shape of the windows did not look quite right either. Either two square or rectangular in the wrong direction or two low on the wall for the floor level.
The garden wall suffers from the same problem as the bricks on the building.
Also the top of the wall has no detail could use some etch work on the top. The garden gate is a bit strange as it is the same thickness as the wall. Again it maybe better if the gate was removed altogether so you can fit one yourself.
So I am afraid to say that I don’t think they are worth it at the moment and require a lot of extra work.

Could work with textured spray paint, iirc the GW one is greyish and would make a good base for the ..eehr,, stuff between the bricks? :D

Wouldn't that obscure the detail?
