Thanks Everyone!  Daeothar, nice work on the warehouse. I'd like to scale my buildings larger as well, but the paper and printer I have available only get me to about 120% (1/63), and I don't want to spend more for larger size printing.  That being said, I still don't think it looks too bad, since my vehicles are in the 1/55-1/60 range and I'm not actually putting figures inside the buildings. For the cardstock, I am using Canson art board, which is about 1.5mm thick.  This gets doubled up when thick card is required. Sometimes this is a bit too thick and I have to do some trimming, but generally it works ok.

Cheers.

What I did on my trial building was tearing the whole thing open in Photoshop and then resizing and repositioning all the components to fit on the A4 paper I used. The width of the building meant that I had to print some of the wider sections in two parts.

For the bricks, I solved this by simply cutting an extra piece of brick wall to cover the seam by cutting along the individual bricks to get a slightly irregular shape. Together with colouring the sides of this cover piece with the right coloured pencil, that made the seam all but invisible.

The top stones on the wall were even easier, as I could simply glue two extra cover stones over the seam. I figure that this way, you can size up the buildings even more. Works really well, even though it does mean some extra work.

And I don't know about you, but I had never thought it'd be that much work to build these things in the first place! ::)

Agreed. Usually about halfway through each build I end up questioning myself on why I'm doing this, but when I see the finished product I always seem motivated enough to move on to the next one.

Also, thanks for the Photoshop idea - I'll have to try that.

I think that about most things too, so do not feel alone with that one.

Those buildings are really nice.  :-* I'd like to get some for my N-scale/10mm VBCW.

Well, I haven't provided an update in a while, but have been busy.  Here is my largest build yet: the Quaker Meeting House and Old Priory for my Kelso layout:

More pictures and a comparison of the model vs. reality can be found on the blog:

Better than ever. You're mastering more complex buildings for sure.
