Renegade have just started to re-release their Kev Adams orcs:

http://www.renegademiniatures.com/orcs.htm

With some of the proceeds going towards the sculptor himself. Very nice orcs, maybe a little bit more pricey than the wargames factory ones but I think arguably nicer.

Do you know how they compare to other orcs in terms of scale?

There is a great orc thread here-

http://wk.frothersunite.com/sc/orcs/orcs1/orcs1.htm

I like the Asgard ones myself.

That's a really good link.

I have those Asgard ones and they are really good. They are a really old miniature too but they still look great.

I think i've found the orcs for my Balin's Tomb diorama. They look seriously mean. Some of those Asgard Dragon Lizards are superb too- like something out of a nightmare.

The Wargames Factory Orcs look like they used the paintings of the late Angus McBride as their reference point.

Everything I've heard of WF says "do not give them money". Your own experience may differ

I don't know about that but about three years ago my wife got me some of their Saxons for my birthday, they didn't turn up for a long time, then I queried them and they said they had the receipt but never sent the items on. They offered me a refund or two sets of Saxons instead with speedy delivery. Which I was quite happy about. Never did anything with them though. Sold them off last year and made some extra cash on them because I had 2packs to sell.

Customer service is a night and day difference between 'old' WGF and the new management. Opinions on the models vary but anything produced from the Ashigaru on has seen a big jump in quality. I've had no ordering mishaps or delays since new management took over, and they no longer do 'pre orders' which was a huge problem for the 'old WGF'. The orcs came out around the shift as I understand it, and are the last set done by the former 'old WGF' sculptor. I may be wrong on that.
a mixture of quick parts, sarcastic humour, reserve, and caprice.
