Dust Tactics vs Secrets of the Third Reich Figures
« on: January 11, 2013, 01:25:24 PM »
Hi
Newly converted to Ambush Alley games via FoF. Want to try out Tomorrows war using my Secrets of the third reich miniatures as i love some of the range, i also like the look of some of the Dust Tactics minis.

My question is do the DT figures stack up against the SOTR figs sizewise?
Im thinking just the infantry figures at this point.

Anyone know.

Cheers
Sean

only Bad News i'm afraid  :'(:The Dust Minis are much bigger than the SOTR Minis,i wouldn't mix them, although you can Mix Dust Power Armour Guys with SOTR Power Armour,Dust Grim Reapers fit well with SOTR A.P.E Suits etc

Tomorrows War is an epic fail, apart from the 4 Scenarios in the Book which require lots of Troops (minimum 9 APCs for the last Mission),TW is completely unplayable, just an example: you have lots of Pictures of Walkers all type of them small, medium, large Walkers whatever, but there are no Rules in the Book how they act on the Battlefield,NO Nothing about Movement Range,Armory,Point Cost or anything that let you actually field a Mech/Walker in TW  >:(

Have to concur on the minis issue, DT models are actually 1/48 to SotTR's 1/56 & having the two on the table together looks pretty jarring. However, the DT vehicle models look fine with Secrets minis & the range provides some excellent mechs (can't comment on 'Tomorrows War', not familiar with it).

One of my friends uses Dust Germans in his SOTR German army, just rebase and separate the units and it's hard to spot.

Slightly off-topic, but I felt compelled to offer a brief defence of Tomorrow's War. I play the rules occasionally with friends who are fans, and while they are not my first choice for sci-fi gaming they are a perfectly solid set of rules' with rules for walkers (under vehicles walkers).
