Teutans Robots for Mad Scientists! A Painted one!
« on: March 12, 2016, 07:57:56 PM »
Hi Guys!

I found these on sale in the Works! For a £1 a bag!

You get 2 of the Minis inside each bag and they make great metal automatons on the cheap!
About 40mm tall. (Random contents though?)

Make sure they are the Robot ones though!

Once you paint them up. Who will know?  :D (Whoops?! lol)

Very cool!  lol lol

Yay! I painted one! A heroclix Elektra conversion for scale!

Plus Ultron action figure which tesco were selling off cheap! £1.50 for him and 2 sentries which are slightly smaller! But make great large robots for 28mm! Given a Tamiya Smoke wash for the hell of it!

I grabbed 4 sets of the Ultron 2.5" figures and now have 4 of the main fig and 8 of the sentries!

Lovely! :D

Nice finds and quick, effective painting to get then on the table.

Those look brilliant! Absolutely love the detail on that red "eye"  :o  In a way it kind of reminds me of that Jonny Quest episode 'The Robot Spy'!

:DBit of a cheat there! :o

The miniature comes apart and the eye detail is a piece of card that you can remove as well as the Red plastic in front of it!

I just took them out then put them back in after painting the thing! ;)

Still it does give a good effect I like!

Remember Jonny Quest cartoons from my youth. But no real episodes! Always wanted an action figure though! lol

I am talking about the 1960's as well. I watched them in the 70's.

I Just grabbed one of these on your recommendation -- will post photos once painted. Good eye for a useful toy!

The Ultron or the Teutans? :)
Either one would be a good pickup. Please post :D I would love to see what you do! ;)

Yay!!! :-* :D

It looks Great! You got a colour in the eye card that I didn't and I got a load of these! lol

But I love your Grey style paint job! Looks almost ceramic. 8)

Did you fill in the backs of the legs? I did with Milliput.

Because I was going to use the thing in a fantasy game, I wanted to give part of it a stony appearance; thus the grey. I didn't fill in the backs of the legs, because I'm lazy; I might just stick a card panel over the back of them to cover up the fact that they're hollow. I may also put it on the base; for toy reasons, it's very unstable, but that's not great for my game purposes.

Yeah! It was one of the reasons I stuck all mine to Cavalry Bases and filled the legs! Makes them more stable.

Also the reason I chose to paint them in a Brass style. So I can use them across Sci-fi/Fantasy and they fit in to my Automaton Army of Atlantis. If I so desire!! :)

I think your stone style is great though. Hope you found a use for the other one on the pack? ;)

Well, I bought six packs.  lol  Actually, most of them were for a game a friend's running; he wanted some eye thingies, which is why I only have one. I have various other walkers and I will eventually do something with them, possibly in a post-apocalypse game ... automated systems that have stayed functioning long after their masters were wiped out, maybe? Haven't had a chance to paint one yet, though. I'm thinking a sinister black.

lol A few of my Mates Have said they like one type or another of the other "Round-Headed" or "Roof-Headed" ones!

But I just say "They Are Mine!" (I don't share my toys well) :D

Please show what you do with them. I am still adding to the Brassness of mine.
