This past two months have been primarily occupied with upgrading a Warbases church for our ECW games. I took the kit from this:

Great work to transform the basic MDF box into something that looks exactly like a real church. In fact it reminds me hugely of the church across the road from my primary school!

Amazing stonework! :-* :-* :-*

That is a serious refresh of the make-up ;)
And the only responsible way to treat MDF buildings, in my not so humble opinion.
Really good job :)

Nothing less than I'd expect from you.
Just one thing.....
Why did you go to the trouble of hiding an mdf church inside a scratch built one ? lol

Thank you for all the kind remarks everyone.

I contracted out the framing but did the finishing work myself. 8) :D

Finally given me a reason to look at MDF kits - as inner cores to be completely hidden by the time the work is done. Thank you.

Excellent work. :-*

It's a slippery slope you've been merrily and ever so gently sliding down for a while.
It was already visible with your tweaking on your cracking Pulp board with urban and rural settings divided by a river.
Even more so on your airfield board.
That of starting with one thing and musing if I just tinker with this bit Ooh and maybe just tweak it here and there too.
To the point it's nolonger what you started out with. Then you tell yourself that your using it as a Dolly and it saves time.
Even though you could have easily cut out a dolly yourself days before the mdf one arrived. Then you go well the windows would have been a pain in the arse to cut out. Deliberately ignoring the fact you've done just that in the uneven cladding.
( I know because this is exactly what I do. AND to bemusement of Mrs TSG)
But that's the Fun that little bit of decadence and C.B A you get from buying something somebody else has made ,and making it your own.Even though you can make it yourself.
Just waiting to see if you build up momentum and go OTT on the next one.

... various interesting insights...
I have made buildings before out of sheet styrene, MDF, foamcore and other materials and each time I am a little unsatisfied with how they go together. I like how well a laser cut kit fits together perfectly, all angles are correct and joins tight; and how the window and door openings are exact and even. I could have built the building from scratch but I would never get that precise a fit or to do so would have taken quite a bit more time. Assembling the kit was very quick and in the time I waited for it to arrive in the post I got quite a few miniatures painted. :) In my ideal hobby world, the basic structure would be MDF and all details including windows, doors and associated trim would be resin, plastic or metal. I am toying with getting my own laser cutter actually, then I could do my own buildings and design them to take premade or 3D printed windows and doors. A guy could go quite nuts! lol
Having said all that, I think my next building might be scratchbuilt. :D

lol lol be careful that Tin Shed Gamer is always stirring up trouble! lol

Church is brilliant, and your painting really brings out the detail, especially the mortar between the stones.
The cast roof adds a lot of authenticity to the building. Very well done.

Beautifully done, looks like so many English churches and the base surround really complements it.
