Are they still a safe bet for overseas orders, I've been trying to email with little luck, I really want a set of Sharpe figures from them
-
I have had nothing but good experiences from them, but no overseas experience. If there is a problem i would bet it’s with the mail service, not Brigade. Make sure you don’t hold up an order with a mixed in pre-order, they usually ship all together.
-
Thanks, it was more the lack of contact that's put me off ordering
-
I bought the Sharpe figures from them a couple of years ago. I was also nervous about ordering from the US but it all came through in about a week (!) and by sticking to the lower shipping limits avoided any nonsense from HMRC.
Really impressed with the service I had.

I've always had good service from Lon. However, as I joined in his latest Plains War kickstarter, Lon's communications have been a bit slow, which is a source of frustration for participants. I understand he's had some family challenges, and, like many providers, he is a small operation, so he's a bit overwhelmed at the moment. As he catches up with the KS shipping, hopefully he'll get more time to respond promptly to emails.

Lon is good people. I have never had a problem with Brigade.
Now, with the mail services lately. I am in US and ordering from UK
has been a bugger lately. I try to only buy US now.

Spooky...I'm in the UK and ordering from the US has also been a bugger lately.
I'd agree though that Lon is good people. 8)

It’s so variable. A friend of mine in Canada ordered from Tradition in London on Monday of this week - order arrived today. Either you’re lucky or you’re not :)

I have had more than a few shipments from the UK go awry. some from companies, some from family. The Royal Mail looks starved of funds and intentionally doomed by parties interested in its privatization and dismantling.

It was privatised years ago

It was privatised years ago
10 years to be exact. But it didn't all go to hell straight away. Many of us ordinary postmen and women still care and try to do our best .
-
Not to sound redundant, but I have had nothing but fantastic experiences with Lon from Brigade Games. I'm in the U.S., but he's always been professional and responsive. I'd go for it...

Vodakfan,
Too be clear. No one is baling you or you co-workers. We all realize the problems are high up and
you are trying to do your best.
-
That was my point. Higher management is reprehensible.

Let’s keep it on topic chaps :)

I am tempted but just discovered they don't take paypal?

Brigade Games? It's been a few years since my last order from Lon but they've always taken Paypal in the past, I wouldn't have ordered if they hadn't! You sure you didn't just miss an option in their shopping setup?

I have had great service from Lon here in Europe, not ordered from him since Covid though.
Cheers

Long time lurker on this forum. My experiences of ordering with Brigade Games in the US (from the UK) haven't been great. A few years ago I too ordered some of the excellent Peninsular War figures. I spent around £270. It took 6 months for the order to get to the UK. To this day I've no idea why it took so long. The website doesn't help either and was a nightmare to navigate. I understand that Lon at BG has introduced a new website but I am loathe to go through that experience again.
Despite this, I too backed the Plains War kickstarter (which was supposed to be delivered in December). Still waiting and I spent a lot of money on that order (which the wife wasn't happy about). Still no parcel or any communication.
Needless to say that this entire experience has put me off from backing anymore kickstarters in future (either here in the UK or in the US).

Just for information - I posted on the kickstarter site a few days ago (about lack of any package) and received my Plains Wars minis today. I'm thinking that Lon does listen to complaints. He just gets bogged down when the orders come in thick and fast. However, it should be noted that there are still others out there who are waiting for their minis (as part of this kickstarter) and who have also posted an enquiry on the kickstarter site. Make of this, what you will?

Always had a great service from Brigade Games in the U S. They do an excellent range of WW1 Austro-Hungarians sculptured by Paul Hicks that are second to none. Their new range of AWI is also excellent though not bought many of these as the Perry’s range is so good in the UK
