These are both very different and yet equally excellent!!!
Good job to the two of you! (and now the matter of choosing one...)
-
Oh No Frank is in the competition :o :o :o we don't stand a chance lol lol lol
Tough match Broadside. I really like the masks on your figures.
-
They are both really nice. I couldn't really decide from the quality of the painting itself. So in the end I chose for different reasons (which I'm not going to tell in order not to influence anybody ;D)
-
Both great entries lads. The maskvisors on the explorers are done very well.
The indians are just awesome, with all the different bright colours and the great background. How did you make does dwellings?
-
The space-factor won it for me. Both good entries!
-
Both smashing :-*
-
Both fantastic.
Where are the spacemen from?
-
Frank,
I love the Haudenosaunee fellows!
-
Ooh, tough one. The Mars explorers have great color contrast, nice whites, and the masks are great. It would have taken a lot to trump all this, but the whole scene of the wardancers...well... :o
-
The red bases and the masks on the Mars Explorers are top notch :-*
Frank's wardancers are amazing, what a characterful scene :o
-
Yes, those Mars explorers are really nice figures with great paintjobs and bases, and they look like 20mm figs too which makes the painting even more excellent. But the world is a harsh place and the Wardancer entry simply has more variation, and where do those awesomely big trees come from?
-
I really like the visors of the martians versus the atmosphere of the indians. The pendulum sung towards the wardancers in the end though.
-
Wow! Tough competition indeed! Awesome wardancers, awesome paintjob, awesome terrain. You've got my vote Frank!
I quite like my little astronauts, but in this match up I consider myself outclassed. :)
Both fantastic.

Thanks for the kind words everyone! The miniatures are from GZG's 15mm range.
EDIT: it just occured to me; am I allowed to vote?! :o
-
I think so Martin, vote away! ;)

All LAF members get to vote, including participants. I once voted for the other fella in a match that I was in, but I did it by accident, as I'm a ham-fisted nincompoop (and/or perhaps I had been drinking).
-
Wow. A tough choice here indeed. Going to have to think on these.
Obvious question to the painters here.. where are the miniatures for both from? Ok, I see that some are from GZG. What about the Northwest Tribes?

The wardancers are from Conquest Miniatures "Iroquois Civillians". Have a look at http://www.miniaturicum.de/product_info.php?products_id=4665.

And here was me thinking that you were just a naturally nice sport!

Wow those spacemen are 15mm! It makes your paint job all the more impressive! You should have shown something for scale beside them!!

Hehe! Maybe you're right. I did paint a exploration vehicle/hauler as well (this thing (http://firebroadside.blogspot.com/2011/02/lpl-prep.html)), but wasn't happy with it so left it out. It might have made the scale more apparent.
-
@Fire Broadside: These are 15 mm Miniatures! WOW, really good work and the bases are very nice too. :-*
@Raz: I bought the dwellings in the background for 2 Euro each in a Bring & Buy (Salute), so I do not know who actually made them.
-
both are tought entry. I have some difficulties to make a choice.
Finally I vote for the Indians cause the scenery.
-
wardancers :-* !!!!
-
How does one choose between two such exellent entries? :S
-
Wow those spacemen are 15mm!
Yep... figured that out pretty quickly. But sometimes it helps put things into perspective for voters if you include 15mm in the vote title.

Indeed. I didn't think of it this time, but I'll do that in the next part of my Mars series. :)
