That´s a hermitage to my taste!
-
Looks great, I may have to steal that idea! How did you texture the walls?
-
I just might have to cast a disbelieve spell... :o
Your scenerie always has this rather homely touch about it that I instantly wish I could live in it. I am seriously impressed by this one (once again, as I am usually are). It's the mixture of boldness and attention to detail that really get me. Like the cat on the stairs. It looks absolutely content and I think it has ever right to do so. Or the leaves just hanging over that relief over the door: somebody has been trimming back the leaves but obviously has let it grow just a little too long again. The same somebody forgot to put away his spade.
Guy, this is perfect. :-*
-
Beautiful work - a small detail but I really like the lamp post! It lends the whole piece a kind of mad fantasy anachronistic timelessness - hints of Narnia, echoes of those fantastic studio Ghibli movies and all sorts of other references. 8)
-
Beautiful scenery. Lots of great little details. :-*

I have the same thought.... How the heck did you do the brickwork? This tower would be perfect for some Reiver border skirmishing ;D
-
That is a really inspiring piece, very well done!
-
That is a BEAUTIFUL & INSPIRING piece...love the cat. VERY WELL DONE!
-
Wow! Pure art, absolutely, ridiculously amazing! Your eye cannot stop itself from being drawn into all the little details (can something be too good?). This is too good!
Great stuff (and cat),
Damien

Very pretty!

James
-
Stunning :-* :-* :-*
-
Thanks chaps :)
The brickwork on the tower is made with Heiki textured foam,it's about 2mm thick.
This is my first scratch built building, ever,so I'm relatively happy with the result :) I think it ended up as my 'grand design' with an nod to various sources (Narnia as Thansants mentioned). Any way shouldn't waffle, now to build the rest of it... ;)
-
This is nice, realy nice.
Is it meant as a diorama or are you actually meant to game on it ?

It will eventually be part of another water board ( to go with the loch from the build something comp.),and two others,an small village and some forestry fields...Perhaps a fifth board in the plans as well :)
-
Stunning job as usual! Love the cat ... ;D
-
big hug to Theodore :)
-
This is absolutely so lovely great :-*
-
The craftsmanship is amazing, yet I'm really impressed by the multipurpose qualities of this piece. It's great for gaming while it remains a work of art in it's own right. That's not an easy balance to achieve. Bravo !!!

This is really well done, and for your first scratchbuilt, woah! keep up the good work.
-

Either you've been doing model RR stuff for yonks or you're highly gifted.
I may just have to hate you from extreme jealousy. ;)

That's amazing, Guy. I would love to see this one day... :o is what I will look like.
What are you going to use this for?
-
You seriously need to get into the movie industry.
You going to make the water usable with and without the tower?
-
I am feeling a strange mixture of intrigue and awe!
Oh, throw in envy and admiration as well!
-
It is a pity that you live on the other side of that big blue ball...
-
Cheers chaps :)

Hopefully some games...However it shall probably end up as an elaborate scenery backdrop thingy lol

Think I'm too old, would like to do that sort of thing though :)
Yeah the tower will be an insert,so I can use it with or without :)

Steve your stuff is outstanding, and an inspiration; alot of your work is to be blamed for getting me into this lark, still look at your blockhouse, for ideas :)
It is a pity that you live on the other side of that big blue ball...
I know,I guess we can still do stuff across the seas? :)
Hopefully this board won't take too much time,I'm looking forward to starting on the other two, especially the village I have planned ;) Ooh and an fifth board in case I need an airfield :o

Looks awesome, Guy! Really like the board - the woodlands tie in exactly with the palette on the tower's base :)
