Yet another Spanish company planning on producing ca. 28mm scale scifi miniatures, and presumably a game to go with them as well since everybody has to have one. So far they basically only have a Facebook page (that I know of) and they aren't even on KS yet but very unsurprisingly they plan to go that route.
https://www.facebook.com/pages/Rocketgames/463135873795780
The human concepts and the prototype Paramedic look nice enough and as they've promised to be "compatible with Infinity" they might well be usable, if not immensely inspired. Their only alien so far doesn't look promising tho but hopefully they'll package them separately... If they actually get off the ground.
-
Probably too early to tell but so far, I like the humans. I tend to be less of a "purist" so I might use them for Infinity for some mercenaries if they aren't priced as Corvus Belli's models or even higher as some W40K rip-offs. Otherwise I'll keep buying "the true thing".
I'm not too fond of the alien. I think I read somewhere they said they would make them their aliens very "humanish". They might be right about that. ;)
-
Their only xeno so far not only "humanish" but also rather "space fantastic". So two things about it me not likey. If it looks like a human, why not admit it also waddles like human -- even if it's "posthuman" rather than a baseline (as they have decency to do in the Beyond the Gates of Antares setting)?

Correction to this, upon reading the Miniatures Page advert thread Rocketgames aims to "provide an interesting tactical wargame oriented to tournaments. Easy and fun to play, but with a wide range of possibilities, the game sets up skirmishes in a sci-fi environment, where battle forces struggle for objectives to accomplish". So yes, there is going to be a game involved -- quelle surprise.
-
I don't mind new games but I tend to avoid "tournament oriented" games. I think tournaments tend to ruin games for several reasons. I suppose I'm totally wrong about that tho and that they are probably good for companies and people liking tournaments of course or lone gamers who can meet others thanks to them which is the only thing I find interesting about tournaments.
The only game I liked more when some people asked it to be changed for tournaments is "Songs of" because it made the points calculator happen from what I understood.
Well, sorry, looks like I forgot we were talking about a new game.
-
I should think it's entirely OK to voice one's general hopes and preferences at this stage when there is very little information as to the actual upcoming game. Personally I do prefer "tournament capable" games on the sometime mistaken belief it means tighter playtesting prerelease and more consistent rules...
Anyhow, the blast/explosion template they showed on their FB features a 2D6 scatter "compass" (presumably of it's an always scatters type) so their selected base die mechanism might be nonlinear (like in WARMACHINE which may have inspired them otherwise as well) but other than that, there's still no further hints.
One assumes this is about to change soonish however:

The start date for the LS KS has been set:
https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=536452506464116
No English version of the beta rules yet however. Haven't bothered trying to decipher the Spanish ones that are available through Rocketgames FB. Don't foresee the rules to affect my decision to participate or not anyhow.
-
Running. Funded (for the time being at least). Cheapest early birds eaten (pending possible regurgitation).
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1318212665/last-saga
Prices aren't too bad if you go for the starter sets but OTOH there is not much to go on there yet in regards to gauging their quality: most minis don't even have renders yet and the only one prototyped has been put on a locked add-on status o_o
Anyhow, not sure if I "really need" even the human starter set, never mind the space dark elves one so I'm rather undecided if I'm going pledge or not. Of course there is still almost a month to decide.
Oh and they have also published their beta rules on the KS site. Didn't read 'em yet tho so no comment about that.
-
Concepts and renders look decent, plus they're metal, which is a big plus for an old-school metal snob like me. But it's just not grabbing me. Another for the 'Remind Me' button.
-
The project's been in the doldrums pretty much since the first two or three days and in fact shows signs of falling victim to "pledge bleed" (possibly partly because of Fallen Frontiers KS starting: http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=66775.msg816624#msg816624). So I wouldn't really bet on this one succeeding.
-
I like the aesthetic for this one...and if they're metals the price is very very good. Not enough for me to pledge (I'd just peruse their line later for a couple models).
-
Well I'm in, just under the wire. Got my 48 hr reminder and saw a single 'Early Bird Combat' up for grabs. Sculpts look decent, they size up well with other ranges, but what pushed me over the line, you ask? Two words: "metal miniatures."
-
FWIW: Two Early Bird Combat pledges currently available. Decent price on two starters and stretch goals. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1318212665/last-saga (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1318212665/last-saga)
-
Went in in the end purely for the exclusive and the paramedic. Always after more civvies for Infinity/The Department :D
-
Yes, civilians are always needed. Looks like Fallen Frontiers fell flat, so I'm pleased I backed this. The figs look decent and certainly versatile for my purposes.
-
I was sorry to see the Engineer (misspelled some way but can't recall how) vanish from the repertoire. Would've preferred more civ types myself. Still, I can probably just about find some use for most of the military minis I'll be getting from this one (went for the Master pledge with a gaming buddy who'll be taking about half of the stuff).
-
Long time no write but maybe a brief recap... The project is running about 5-6 months late and Rocketgames is thinking of switching to resin:
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1318212665/last-saga/posts/1224278
Not too happy about that tho I'm not going to ask for a refund. Seeing as it's a KS project and all. Might be sorry for that later if they do swap material and so many people get a refund that the project sinks completely.
-
Switching materials doesn't work for me. I'm one who'd want a refund if they go resin. Not shocked a KS campaign would run into problems/delays but this is a huge disappointment.
-
I agree that is a very disappointing turn of events.
However, expecting a refund for a KS is in a very grey area as long as there is a chance of fulfillment, even if it is not in the exact form and by exact date promised. Even more so if handing them out endangers the fulfillment of the project for the rest of the backers.
Section 4 is I think deliberately fuzzy about the priorities but "contents subject to change" is pretty obviously written in there. Furthermore, entitlement to a refund only enters the list of possibilities under the part where the project fails to fulfill more or less completely.
https://www.kickstarter.com/terms-of-use#section4
-
I maintain the switch in materials is a substantive change from the original agreement, but agree Section 4 is 'open to interpretation'. Not like I'm going to hire a team of international lawyers and bounty hunters. (although the notion has a certain vindictive appeal) *sigh*
Between the KS and FB pages, I'm thinking I should kiss my $$ goodbye and be surprised if any figs ever show up on my doorstep in any material.
Damn. It.
-
The problem would be with what does constitute "the original agreement" I think. If KS was a preorder system then it would obvious but it just isn't. And the backers didn't seem to get far or indeed anywhere with the demands for refund and whatnot with Defiance Games KS either even tho AFAIK there were some lawyers involved.
Anyhow. It looks like RG (which is kinda-sorta a British company BTW in case it comes to a lawsuit) is determined to go resin and there aren't going to be any refunds in the foreseeable future since all the funds have been tied in the failed metal production. This obviously being my interpretation of the official communications and not necessarily a description of what is really going on.
-
I get all that. I just don't like paying for a severe lack of business acumen then ending up with a product that not only is extremely late but not what I ordered.
-
Pending an actual update, here's what Rocketgames (Nic Diaz) has to say about the status of the metal production in the project's general comments section:
The exact information that we have received from the caster:
- All resin masters are made.
- Most of the metal molds are made.
- He has already started with the production of metal copies.
- He continues making copies of metal while he finish the last metal molds.
- At the moment he is focused on our project, and is a priority finish the production.
That is, it is assumed that production has already begun. We have requested the evidence for this statement and he should send images of the molds, copies and masters this week.
We will continue reporting each new news that we have and every step taken.
We are prepared to take control of resin production if needed but the intent and the original plan is that the range of Last Saga is made in metal and we are trying to do so. The plan B is ready to ensure that everyone gets their reward
So there appears to be some chance still that these will actually get made in metal. Which also rises the chances of them actually getting made in the first place I think.
-
Thanks for that. I've been staying off the RG KS page but that sounds vaguely positive. Perhaps figs will show up some day.
-
Kind of glad I'm not paying so much attention to this one.
Upset that there have been so many set backs but this sounds like something good might start coming through soon.
However I would like them to answer my question on facebook!!! hahaha
-
Reputedly, the metal caster has stated he's now working on LS stuff. We shall see soonish I suppose.
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1318212665/last-saga/posts/1244994
-
came across this on their facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/RocketGamesSAR/timeline (https://www.facebook.com/RocketGamesSAR/timeline)); don't have time to check which sculpts are there though
(https://fbcdn-sphotos-f-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-xpf1/v/t1.0-9/1932445_722713177838047_5304722334719174574_n.jpg?oh=5b7afe327ba9fcfda63adea91b223086&oe=55F70DCC&__gda__=1438629901_485fb7cda16bf21f2f9db990a0a5b9a8)
-
Those would seem to be the resin masters RG said they got back from the caster.
One notable thing missing from that would be the "civilian" that IIRC is supposed to come as an extra with most pledges. For some reason they thought it was good idea to do its master last...
-
no the civi is in there, and all council troops including the KS exclusive manticore minus their giant robot (which is all the mini's I backed for)...hope the metal casting is underway currently
-
Looks like metal casting is going ahead!
(https://fbcdn-sphotos-h-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-xtf1/v/t1.0-9/11401240_724288134347218_5649862886015851391_n.jpg?oh=58f27c3121fc93c507a63c65eef70aef&oe=55FB926D&__gda__=1442043958_90dbc0c445f1fe631562f3ccadd6d677)
-
Now it's completely officially on:
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1318212665/last-saga/posts/1260032
Several close-ups there too. The mold lines don't look as bad as the commenters say but then again, my eyesight is pretty poor these days so I could be wrong. Or else it's just preferential.
-
I don't have an issue with it either! But the guy complaining has been raging for a while about this. In saying that I can see the mold line that he's talking about, but it's sounding like that a test cast too so we'll see!
-
I've no problems with the mould lines either - there's a lot worse been done and at least these are metal, I've had my fill of trying to scrape the lines off the restic stuff I've backed. I'm looking forward to these, and I'm not overly worried how long it'll take to get them.
-
Seconded. I wasn't pleased at the prospective change from metal to resin, but am quite content with those images. The mold lines are very minor compared to some I've dealt with. Very much looking forward to receiving my figs now.
-
These are I think the first LS miniatures pictured "in the wild":
https://www.dropbox.com/sh/5ehi290gyfxcg1q/AABX4FwBAujzFyJLAbxoml-Ka?dl=0
As to the general progress of the KS, partial fulfillment is occurring provided you pledged for certain limited set of miniatures and informed Rocket Games about wanting those right away. There is no word as of yet when the rest of the minis are going to be cast, much less shipped to the pledgers. Also there is the rulebook etc. that are in limbo currently AFAIK.
-
I was holding out for the full contents of my pledge, but now I'm wondering if I should request my portion of this partial fulfillment - if I even can at this point. That way, at least I'd get something.
-
Been thinking about that too...i only backed for Council models, bar the Dragon...so that's most of them right there (waiting on 2 manticores and the fusiliers)
Hopefully they will get more mini's next month
-
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1318212665/last-saga/posts/1325793
There doesn't seem to be a cut-off date mentioned for requesting the shipment of available items but as per above, there aren't that many. The Council 4X has Fusiliers, Phantoms and Manticores going AVOL so the only thing you are be able to get from their starter is the TacOfficer... Guardians of Tanaor has the best availability which is kinda funny as they were the latecomers on the project.
Considering myself burned by another Spanish company (http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=56580.0), I did go for a separate posting so as to get at least something out of this one. The only thing I've gotten so far is a confirmation e-mail (and event that came only after I complained about it in the KS comments section) but I suppose it's inevitable that the packing and postage will go slowly.
-
I'm torqued over the delay, the excuses, the lack of figs, sure - but I am stunned at what seems to be such cavalier incompetence. Avaunt nitwittery! A pox on thee and thy house.
-
So I haven't received squat from Rocket Games, not so much as an email or response to my question on KS or FB, but they find time to retail figs online:
http://www.rocketgames.co.uk/store/en/ (http://www.rocketgames.co.uk/store/en/)
Effin great. >:(

Yeah i saw that this morning...wtf
The only reason I see them doing this is that they want to start making some money to try and speed along the rest of the process??? Maybe I should ask for my council mini's now...
-
The only reason I see them doing this is that they want to start making some money
The word is that the company's in a pickle, economically, and given the nature of the effort I'm inclined to believe them. As long as the miniatures other than those listed available don't make an appearance in the shop (apart from preorder, maybe) I'm going to let this slide. It'd be different with an established company.
ETA - I received a dispatch notice from RG about an hour or so ago. At least that seemed to be correct and furthermore it listed all of the miniatures I've pledged for originally. This last feature is no doubt a bonus to those who have already mislaid their old confirmation e-mails. Also, Nic Diaz of RG has promised some kind of update on KS page soon (later today in fact but his timing estimates tend to slip a bit).
-
Just noticed I had one too
And that's a fair point, as long as we get them before they go to general release. Looks like it'll cost them more this way though with shipping.
I do want these guys to work though, the concept art is pretty good, even if parts of it are trying to cash in on Infinity
-
I hate it when my cash gets pickled.
Guess I'm emailing them for those few Council figs. *sigh*
-
The lastest status report:
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1318212665/last-saga/posts/1359814
Looking at the comments, late-in-the-day shipment requests probably should be send directly to ks_shipments at rocketgames.co.uk instead of using KS messaging system.
-
Yep, spotted that gem of an update. And emailed my request for any figs due/available.
Knowing no one is as innocent as the guy telling his side of the story, this KS does seem plagued by one problem after another. However, I smell a serious lack of business acumen. A bit of forethought and clear, proactive communication goes far, IMO.
End of the day I'm hoping at least partial fulfillment of my Pledge, but I'm not holding my breath. Throwing this one in the big 'whatever' pile.
-
Newbie throwing in my 2 cent's worth:
I received partial fulfillment of my KS early this month. The Guardians of Tanaor. Short 1 mini that was never cast, so can't complain.
The metal minis are really, really nice and clean. There's a review here in case anyone wants to follow up:
https://boardgamegeek.com/article/20424610
The metal minis are being compared favourably to Infinity (don't play so can't comment). The resin minis... less so.
-
Thanks for that, especially the comparison shot. Sorry to hear about the resin kit.
Received an email conforming my request for available figs. Of the two starters, stretch goals and extras ordered/paid for, I'm to receive four figs. oh well.
-
hmmm...just got my figures...shipped on the 21st and arrived on the 28th...1 week turn around to Aus isn't that bad
i feel like they are loosing money on the priority shipping
speaking of which the council mini's look pretty good. I'll wait until I get the fusiliers before i build the officer, but I might build the other three and check them against old/new style infinity sculpting tonight/tomorrow
-
The latest word from Nic Diaz is that RG has found a new caster. Maybe that'll speed the things along with the KS, or maybe they are just thinking about the future of the line. Not an actual update on this yet.
-
Hope springs eternal - even with Kickstarters.
-
I received my early shipping batch of miniatures yesterday. Or at least I received my two Council Tactical Officers and the right number of GoT miniatures, won't have time to really go through them until the coming weekend. At a glance they looked clean and well cast.
-
Good to hear. Mine should arrive soon. Soon-ish.
-
I didn't have chance to verify what I'd gotten over the weekend since my ISP had decided to not provide.
But I did look at the miniatures an sich and was quite happy with their casting quality. I think there was a minor mold line in one of the GoT model's helmet but I'm not quite sure about that and couldn't find anything else to gripe about. Base painting them might reveal some seams but I don't expect that to happen.
However, I was not quite so happy with the size of the Council TacOfficer... I was expecting the humans from this line to be somewhat smaller. As they are, they won't match very well with my predominantly true-28mm-scale scifi minis. Maybe they are scaled to fit the new-and-larger-post-IceStorm-Infinity and the the older pre-N3 stuff.
-

They were designed by the guy who did the Nomads for that box, so no real suprise there
I had issues with the assault rifle commando, the base tab was way to thick for the base (so I trimmed it), and there was a lot of flash around the back near the gun and pouch. I managed to remove it but it wasn't easy. The shotgun commando is ace though; rarely do I come across a model that has 2 separate hand bits that fit togther so nicely.
I'll post some pictures up of the commandos tonight with a JSA kempetai, Necromunda Delaque and a new size Nomad. Does anyone have a particular, generic, model that people want me to use for scale comparisons, like a space marine or something?
-
Council Commandos with new scale Nomad, old scale yu jing and a GW necromunda mini
(http://i.imgur.com/15NB2A5.jpg)
-
Yep, that painted Yu Jing there explains why I got confused about the scale :?
-
Thanks for the picture.
Mine arrived yesterday. See if I can't get them assembled this weekend.
-
Thanks for that, especially the comparison shot. Sorry to hear about the resin kit.
Thanks, but wasn't me that posted the review ;)
-
An update. Looks like complete fulfillment is still quite a ways off. On the plus side, all the stuff I pledged for myself (i.e. the Council) is in the "first new wave".
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1318212665/last-saga/posts/1362501
-
Saw that update too - oh well. I opted for Council and Raiders. We'll see if/when anything more arrives. At least I got 4 miniatures for all that time and $$$.
-
The latest. It doesn't look like we can expect a quick complete fulfillment. Probably nobody was tho after all the known problems.
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1318212665/last-saga/posts/1442341
-
I'm throwing my experience in the big "Whatever" pile. Perhaps my miniatures will show up some day.
I'll not be backing more Kickstarters any time soon, though.
-
It seems anything that can go wrong with this KS, has gone wrong.
Pity, as the creators were probably enthusiastic but incredibly naive.
Oh, well. At least I got 5 out of my 15 minis, so this has been 33% delivered.
-
Judging by the latest not-update*, this project is on its very last legs -- despite vague promises of possible resolution:
Creator Nicolas Diaz about 10 hours ago
Hello everyone,
Quick facts about the state of the Kickstarter:
- We still care about the project. The fact we aren't present here doesn't imply we are not working towards its completion. I could build a bot to post random messages here, saying "We are working", and be completely absent. The case is just the opposite. We are racking our brains trying to solve this successfully.
- We have been (and we are) through a harsh personal period. I'm not going to share any details here and I'm not saying this to justify our behavior: our lack of communication with you is solely our fault.
- The state of the project is very uncertain. In short: we have paid for a production, as of today we have almost nothing.
- After weeks of spamming emails to the caster, we received this: "The package is send". Literally. I have asked him, of course: about its content, a tracking number, invoices, budgets, something. We have nothing. No details of how the money has been used. No invoices. Nothing. You can ask him: Stefan Niehues, from StudioworkX.
- We have encountered many problems in our path. We have tried to circumvent them, but the sum has gone out of control. Not communicating those problems to you is our fault.
- Our personal savings are depleted: we cannot hold Rocket Games SARL any more. Thus, the company is going to declare bankruptcy and be closed.
- We were going to post an update this weekend with all this information: explaining all the past troubles, and possible ways to continue we have in mind. This has been delayed because recent events: the "mysterious package" sent by the caster and conversations we are having trying to save the KS.
[...]
- We made contact with another caster and tried to start a different path. Its name ended here despite we haven't officially announced it. They warned us about some emails they received, asking about the Last Saga Kickstarter. I don't know the content of those emails, but be aware they don't hold any responsibility of the fulfillment of the project. They aren't going to answer emails about that topic.
I will try to be here to answer all the questions that are going to surge after these lines. After we have solved the events that have prevented it, a major update will come
---
*) Mr. Diaz has taken to a habit of posting pretty big news only in the comment section, which is marginally better than Outlaw's way of announcing almost everything related to their KS in their Facebook only of course
-
Ahh yes. :-[
Can't say I'm surprised. Still, I'm disappointed and not a little hacked at how badly ND/Rocketgames fumbled this campaign. Another poster child for bad Kickstarters.
-
Yeah, not surprised just disappointed.
I do though want to know more about this Stefan Niehues guy, because it sounds a bit like he's the reason this died...and i want to know how the new caster ended up on the kickstarter page...
-
sorry to post again, but i remembered one of the status updates...status report 23
it shows what had finished production...i wonder what's going on with most of them, maybe in "the package is send"???

I think the "production finished" list was based on information from the manufacturer prior to it becoming evident that what got produced was masses of a select few models from the list, instead of a bit fewer models of all the models from the list. But yes, they might be in the package that might be going RocketGames' way. Bigger miracles have happened, I hear o_o
-
So...Zenit miniatures is going to own the game now with the original guys becoming apart of Zenit more or less.
Opinions? Thoughts? Personally kind of ok with this as I hear good things about Zenit.
-
No Idea what happend there, but I know the caster on my own and had/have Business with him for my own miniature lines, I´ve never seen or heard that there was any problem with him, it all sounds a bit strange for me to be honest.
-
So...Zenit miniatures is going to own the game now with the original guys becoming apart of Zenit more or less
Looks like.
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1318212665/last-saga/posts/1487558
I'm not quite 100% confident this will ensure I'll get my minis remaining, to be frank. A company shift mid-KS isn't going to be the smoothest possible move to pull. I suppose I'll wait for Zenit to declare their version of the issue for starters, couldn't find anything on this on their sites yet.
-
Is this just another attempt by RG to kick the problem down the road and deflect/dissipate blame?
I'd like to hear what Zenit has to say about all this. Any announcements on their site? My gut tells me Zenit might want to rethink bringing the Rocket Games crew in on their operation. Probably not a wise business move.
Be nice to finally see the figs I paid for. But I'm not holding my breath.
-
It sounds like that the rocket games guys are going to be only on the design front with Zenit having total control of the product...Zenit are probably going to loose money sorting out the kickstarter and use the success of their other two games to offset it for a while.
Maybe Zenit wanted a sci-fi game? Maybe part of the contract is that Zenit doesn't pay anything to get ownership of Last Saga?
-
Well it's now Zenit official
http://web.zenitminiatures.es/en/official-statement/ (http://web.zenitminiatures.es/en/official-statement/)
We are pleased to announce that Zenit Miniatures has reached a commercial agreement with Rocket Games, which resulted in the absorption of the company by Zenit Miniatures and the acquisition of the rights of commercial exploitation of the range of miniatures and game Last Saga.
The original equipment will remain in charge of the development of the game and the design of the range.
From Zenit Miniatures, we want to make clear our commitment with the patrons of the Last Saga Kickstarter campaign and ensure the delivery of rewards.
-
Well, that clears the transfer of rights and, more crucially, obligations aspects then 8)
Now I suppose it's down to waiting again -- looks like Zenit isn't known for speedy delivery of KS goods even if they do deliver eventually.
-
I´ve mentioned before that i know the blamed caster well and have talked with him about the situation with Rocket Games. He pleased me to wait with a post here till he has given out a statement on his own which was plublished today on a well reputated Newsblog in Germany.
http://www.brueckenkopf-online.com/?p=163066 (http://www.brueckenkopf-online.com/?p=163066)
Ok not everybody is well in german I would guess, maybe someone can translate it in proper english, my humble skills in english are not that well to do that in a really perfect translation sry.
But the Core message of that post is: Tha Caster HAS CASTED EVERYTHING he got from Rocket Games as master! He has made unpaid more work to Taq the whole single parts what was not part of the original deal and he has sended Master and casts to Rocket Games long ago in last year and still waits on the go to cast the finished molds. Nothing comes from Rocket back to him....... So far to the "spamming him with messages"
To proof his statement he has made a picture of all casted miniatures he has ever got from Rocket Games as a master. You can see HE HAS DONE his Part, so long to statements of Rocket Games to blame a person for failures done by who knows who, which damages the reputation of someone who has to make his family income with this job!

As Paul Harvey used to say, "and now you know the rest of the story."
-
I do not know if it has been asked, but will Zenit honor the Kick-starter supporters by sending out the miniatures paid for by the backers?
-
According to their official statement, terse as it was, it seems so.
-

That's the impression I got from the statement.

So yay and update!
While I'd disappointing by the small number of pictures from the convention there's a fair bit of hope in this post.
I though want peoples opinions on the change of fusilier designs from some of the earlier renders to the newer 3d renders
(http://i.imgur.com/kFdYYVY.jpg)
I think the new ones look pretty cool but are lacking some of the character the running and reloading ones had, esp as we all voted on a reloading fusilier
-
As a gamer first and a painter/collector third (if that), I personally rather like the fact that the new ones are more static. It improves their usability in any games that have true line of sight (as IIRC Last Saga does).
The update of course is here:
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1318212665/last-saga/posts/1513672
Whining about the Sovereign Empire reworking has started, I see.
-
Sounds like forward motion. Backers might actually see their pledges - finally - end of this year. (altho I'm not holding my breath)
And yes, the whining did seem like they were loading up their Excuse Blunderbuss. I ordered Council and Raiders, so I wasn't paying close attention to Empire news.
As far as the rules go, I just wanted the figs. I had zero interest in their game - even less now. At this point, I won't be supporting ANYTHING Last Saga/Rocket Games/Zenit does. Ever. Just send me the figs or return my $$$.

Yeah, static poses are more usable, the reloading pose was pretty static though; standing straight within the confines of the base pulling out a new clip. Even the running pose looked like is was fully within the base.
I agree with usability over rule of cool...it's why I have crouched snipers in Infinity; so much harder to judge LoS/LoF

The whining is over the top isn't it :P

If Google Translate is to be believed, here are some masters produced by Zenit for Last Saga:
http://miniaturasywargames.com/blog/exclusiva-primeras-miniaturas-de-last-saga/
One hopes we won't be reliant on random blogs and Facebook pages for news until the end of this project. Sorta like Outlaw Games style with the added bonus of all the info being in Spanish only, of course.
-
Pictures of existing masters/figs... is something I suppose - if old news from new source counts as activity. Question is if this twitch is due to the body coming back to life, or in it's final death throes?
Like the boy who cried 'wolf', Last Saga/Rocket Games has lost all credibility with me.
-
An actual update for a change:
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1318212665/last-saga/posts/1588657
With previously unseen renders and a pair of concepts for completely new (as in not-KS-related) models.
-
Here's hoping.
It's been so long, if the rest of my pledge ever shows up, I can pretend they're free miniatures that arrived from a mysterious sender out of the blue.
-
HOLY CRAP did you guys see what they posted up in response to the combat heels on female sculpts?
"This is a controversial topic, so I will try to explain here why the heels is a common addition to female miniatures:
The main problem you face when sculpting realistic women, is their height. To properly reveal a miniature as a woman (and don't look like a male), their proportions need to be very specific: if you try to make them as tall as the male, those proportions get ridiculously big. And if you nail the proportions, the miniature is very small in comparison to the male.
So, the addition of the heels is a height problem solution, matching the selected proportions while keeping a repectable height."
I don't know how to feel about that...I think I'd be ok with female sculpts being smaller (as long as the weapons remain the same size). Sure it makes it harder to draw light of sight, but that's why Infinity bought in the silhouette system
-
The lesson here being that you can invent a reason for just about anything if you really set your mind to the task.
-
"Combat heels" are fine by me. It's toy war, toy soldiers, in a fictional futuristic setting. This is a tad too nitpicky for me.
-
Well knock me over with a feather... my Last Saga minis arrived today. A two and a half year delay for two starter sets (Council and Raiders) but it looks like everything is accounted for. I'll go mark it as 'Received" on KS.
Finally.

lol
Yours arrive yet?
-
Mine arrived yesterday! I only backed for the council starter plus a couple of other minis.
Was presently surprised that they resent me the minis that they had previously sent me! Pity though that the arms really only work on specific bodies, otherwise I could do some conversions :P
Still, the lack of unit cards and those resin objective crates bums me out a little bit, but finally getting it after all this time is pretty sweet.
Ironically I'm regretting the KS exclusive manticore because she doesn't look like how the manticores look now!
I'll try and get some pictures up tonight
-
My stuff's going to the old address so I won't know if it's arrived or not until Friday.
Anyway, was the KS special "Civilian" model included in the dispatch? I didn't see it mentioned in the final miniatures list and didn't get an answer when I asked about it in the comments. I don't think it was in the "early bird" set they send out to some (including me) a while back either but maybe I've just forgotten about it.
-
Civilian miniature... *vague memory stirs*
Stuff is in parts in bags. Loosely associated but not as neat and evident as could be, but I will sort through them this weekend when I'm feeling better.
-
No Last Saga love in the mail for me :?
Well, maybe next weekend then...
ETA -- nothing this week either. I'm starting to think I should've updated my mail address after all, even tho the e-mail said I don't need to...
-
Well... Crapicus.
-
Finally they are here. Or at least something is here, I didn't have the energy to try and check what I got vs. what I pledged for. Also got a 15% discount code to the Zenit store which makes me think maybe something is missing.
All the same, this is almost done, which is 8)
-
Mine turned up as well the other day - nice models and everything was there although the civvies now has a gun! Still useful but might be annoying for some of us.
Looking forwards to Zenit relaunching the range.
-
Best of luck to Zenit then. I'm glad this was resolved, and I'm sure Rocket Games had the best of intentions, but between numerous other miniature/game options and the long delay, I doubt I'll ever use that discount code. This is a dead horse for me.
-
Looks like I got everything I pledged for. Or at least the numbers add up and there are enough different models in the package compared to different sculpts that have been announced.
Not sure either if I'll ever need the discount code -- what with the fact that I don't really expect to play much of anything ever again and so don't really want for a single miniature for the rest of my life -- but I'll keep it on hand for now just in case.

The Empire and Council starters and blisters are in the Zenit webshop. (http://shop.zenitminiatures.es/category.php?id_category=42)

Damn you rokarege! :D My wallet is already screaming in anguish after seeing all those Council minis! And it's all your fault lol
Joking aside, thanks for the update. If it wasn't for you I wouldn't even remember that I wanted these guys.

Isn't it too much like infinity looking?
-
I guess it depends on how you want define "too much". It's been pretty obvious from the get-go that LS minis line is "almost-Infinity" or at least "inspired by".
-
Same sculptor?

Isn't it too much like infinity looking?
First thing I thought when I saw them.

Same sculptor?
One of the sculptor's who works with CB for Infinity did a lot of the Council minis for Last Saga. It's worth noting that the Council minis are taller than Infinity. I know parts of the Infinity community are outraged by all of this, esp because they are directing their rage towards Zenit and not Unusual Creative who actually make the game :P
Aren't backers of the KS meant to have some sort of voucher to use in the store? They never sent me one :(
-

Hmm. Even taller than the new ones? I do believe I-minis grew in size a year or three back.
I know parts of the Infinity community are outraged by all of this
There are a few fanatics true believers there to be sure (not that there aren't for any major game). I've personally met one such even and I don't "go out" much.
Aren't backers of the KS meant to have some sort of voucher to use in the store?
Not sure -- I got one even tho they send me all minis I pledged for. There was supposed to be a voucher for folks who didn't get everything.
I'm starting to think I might "need" a Black Crow but I'll wait a bit longer to see if they come up with anything else I "need" before putting in an order.
