I've been working my way through some of Hasslefree's trooper types recently (a commission job) and have been posting my progress over on Facebook (link in my sig.). The WIP images are all linked from FB and I think they've gotten a little compressed but never mind, I'll do 'proper' pics when everything is done.
Six troopers done so far, two more to go and then a handful of characters, plus a few non-HF models too.

Lovely smooth finish there. Especially fond of the grey and faces.

My god - beautiful. So smooth. Fantastic transitions and edge highlighting, but it's the stripes of colour against the grey that make the models for me. Well, that, and the faces on the two women who are not wearing helmets. The girl in the blue armour in particular is superb.
-
Oh Mystic, I was going to say the opposite, I love the coloured armoured troopers better!
Top job again SCL!! :-* :-* :-* :-*
-
Lovely them!
-
Fantastic
-
They all look amazing. Thanks for sharing!!

Lovel figures, great paintjob. I shall be attempting to nick all of your techniques ;)
-
I like both variants - the grey ones have the miltaristic 'unit'-feel, while the coloured ones makes me think 'corporate' of 'free-lance/merc'.
In a future where military-grade is available commercially, standard suits would probably be available in different colouring styles, just like sports gear, cars, and other gear.
-
Blimey O'Reilly. Jaw, meet floor. Pretty much what Hawkeye said - the colours, the stripes, the blending... Altogether dazzling.
-
Superb brushwork. Excellent shading on the armor. I am simply in awe.
-
very nice mass effect paint jobs
-
:o :o :o
Wow, just wow. (too baffled to utter more)
-
:-*
-
Wow, I hadn't really rated those minis as something I might want to pick up until I saw these paint jobs, looks like that's something else to go on the Salute shopping list then!
-
Damn they are nice.
The ones with no helmets even have eyebrows. :o
Phenomenal stuff.
-
As good as ever!
-
Great, fantastic, outstanding. I think you loved to paint this figures.
-
My god, so smooth. These are simply gorgeous, which seems like an odd thing to call grey military armour.

Yes, these sculpts are ideal for that. It was my first thought even before I consciously noticed the N7 markings :)
-
I'm always short of words with your work :-* :-*, amazing again.
-
Sickeningly good painting, I'll just quietly slip mine back under the carpet for another 6 months lol
-
Thanks for the comments everyone. :)
Last two troopers here before I move onto a selection of characters. The orange one was a nice change from all the grey.

Oh my word! :-* :-*
-
That orange one is superb!
-
Splendid paintjobs, as always!
-
Beautiful models and a lovely job on them you have done.
Just got these myself, Hasslefree is a bit of a byword for quality.
-
Yip, the orange one has now become my fav!! 8) 8) 8) 8)
Any chance of a colour recipe for him?
-
Ridiculous! Far too good ... :-*

Base coat VGC Beasty Brown, quick highlight up to VGC Parasite Brown, then you'll need a time machine to go get some 1980's Citadel Hobgoblin Orange... ;) Anyway, highlight up to that and then for the sharp highlights add a little VGC Bald Moon Yellow. :)
Closest equivalent to hob gob orange I've got is VGC Orange Fire but it's a bit brighter.
-
Beautiful work! :D
Looking forward to the character selection… :P
-
I love it.
You could use a shiny black on the "googles" to make them more like pilot helmet ?
But it is really good as it is already.
-
With the troopers done I'm now onto a mix of female characters. They're not necessarily meant to be used alongside the troopers but they might work, plus they're part of the same job. :)

I'm not sure, but she's a Hasslefree model.

Ta much! I've been struggling to get a decent orange in recent years!
BTW the girl in the red looks dead like the Cylon girl from Battlestar! :-* :-* :-* :-*
-
Cylon Lady in "Red" is "Gina",
Troopers are "The Five Eight"
Trooper ladies are "Lt. Merys Thoran" and "Cpt. Nee Sun"
and the shotgun gal is "Dakota"
Stunning paint jobs
-
Extremely impressive paint jobs. :-*
-
Wow! :o
-
All are stunning pjs, lovely stuff
(For me personally I don't like the blue trooper, not sure why, but it is brilliantly done)
-
Stunning! I think you might be my favourite painter! :-*
-
I've finally gotten around to doing some better photo's of all the models. Ended up being a bit of a mix of things with some of those characters but what the hell.

Stunning. I think I have ALL of these models on my shopping list (with the exception of the woman in red), and seeing them here painted to this standard means I'll be getting them a lot sooner than I'd planned.
I love the Vic Lewinski models (female pilot type with the cigar). Wonderfully done. I think the simple basing really sets them off too. God, those armoured soldiers are beautiful!
