Bah, you should have paired 'Into the Dungeon' with 'In the Dungeon' (http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=88518.0). You don't get a chance like that too often. lol
-
Oh man. If this is not the most difficult decision of the year.
Battle of the giants.

I really would love to :) but that's not my decision, you know, the Swiss System.
-
Wow. Just, wow.
How are we supposed to decide between these?!
-
Gah! The Swiss System is my undoing. Michael, had I figured on meeting you this early in proceedings, I would have prepared something suitably dioramic to put me in with a chance! That is a stunning entry my friend. Congratulations :)
-
:o
So should it be a coin toss or rolling a dice?
Both entries are amazing.
-
Both fantastic! Although that scenery really is fantastic! :-*
-
Wow. Great entries, but I think the scenery makes the difference.
-
I really wanted to vote for Captain Blood, because I much prefer the subject matter and miniatures....
But I gotta admit, that scenery deserves the vote!
-
Tough choice. My vote went to Captain Blood, because I really loved the little details, like the eyes of the horses.
That dungeon however is really nicely built, too!
-
Both brilliant. :)
-
WOW
-
I am so not a fan of fantasy that when fantasy goes up against any other theme, I'll usually choose the other entry. And when the other entry is from Captain Blood, this is usually an even easier system. In this case, however, it wasn't so much the dungeon theme that earned my appreciation in the Admiral's entry, but rather the big open expanse of nothing in the Captain's entry that forced me to take a closer look at his opponent's entry. I gotta love the bar wench, who was apparently picked up at the Three Dragons by an admiring group of adventurers and given a sword.
-
Both truly superb - extremely tough decision
-
This is almost cruel-forcing us to choose between two masterpieces. What else can I say but :o :o :o :o :o :o
-
I love the Brave Companions, Cap'n, but - where are the Zorses? What about the Black Goat of Qohor? ;)
Or perhaps these are separate from your GoT figures, and the name is just a coincidence?
-
:o wow both are amazing. But I have to go with the Brave Companions, lovely conversions and painting. Love all the extra bits of kit on them.
Second the call for Vargo Hoat, Dothraki, died hair and beards and Zorses!
-
really impressive bit of painting on those horses 8)
-
pah...its so easy to vote in this ....totally clear !!!
-
Oh bugger - you talented gits :)
I'm going to grab a cup of tea and give this a good think. Awesome entries lads!
-
Sorry Richard, this time Michael is a edge better because of the scenary. It is not fair that these two guys always match-up, but so is the game.

Well, truthfully, they're going to double up a ribauds or scurrers for the Wars of the Roses, which is what I made them for in the first place. So having them on zebras would look a bit odd ;)
But they do have that disreputable rabble feel that should serve for lesser members of the Bloody Mummers. I know Vargo Hoat rides a zorse, but didn't think they all did. More of a mixed bag of assorted rascals if my memory serves... For pure GoT purposes though, I may well add a Vargo-sur-zorse plus a standard-bearer with the goat flag. Should be fun to model and paint.

Thanks Dirk. Yes indeed. A truly wonderful scene from the Admiral. Bad planning on my part I'm afraid. I hadn't thought through the effects of the new Swiss Pairing System. I have several scenery-heavy entries lined up for later in the league. I hadn't twigged I should have played them first, not last! lol
This is, in fact, the ONLY team I've prepared without a scenic setting. Certainly not the one I would have chosen to put up against a maestro like Michael!
But... It's still early days... All to play for :)
-
thou should not vote the scenery !!!!! :)
-
Bloody tough decision, since both are bloody marvellous, but based purely on the amount of kitbashing work I know has gone into Cpn Blood's figures, I'm voting for them. :D

I don't think they all rode zorses, but I do think a few of them did... Vargo at the very least. Looking forward to your future efforts!

Dear Bjoern,
we talk at DoOrDice about your tables ;). After watching the painting it was a tie, but the mood after wtching it with scenary gives this edge for Michael. Sorry Björn, it is not so unimportant. Maybe in LPL11 scenary is not allowed, but in the moment it supports the work
-
Two superb entries !!! :-* :-* ... difficult to choose..... o_o
Nikko
-
wOW hard to choose !
-
Two great entries - very well done to you both.

Wonderful miniatures as expected from a master painter like you, Richard. I'm really looking forward to your figures with scenery in the coming rounds ... ;D
A word about that Swiss system and my setting: At the start of this league I didn't realize all the implications coming with that system, and to be honest, I didn't bother much. I just prepared my first three entries for the first three rounds more or less randomly.
The dungeon scenery I used here is not new; I used it in the last League as well. So it couldn't be THAT dominant feature as some people here like to suggest. I had pretty much fun painting the miniatures to my best standard and think that can be seen. :)
And no, I would not support a league where scenery would be forbidden. I really like to present my figures in nice surroundings. As everybody is allowed to do.

Completely agree :)
-
No worries, guys, we are not going to forbid scenery, definitely not. As always said, LPL is not only about painted figures or quality of painting, or looking for a better guy/girl/painter/whatever. It's not a pure painting competition. it's about making a good show. And I like the way it works.
Well done, both of your, guys, I'm happy we have such talented competitiors in the LPL :)
-
excellent entries both
Really enjoyed this one
-
I often voted against an entry with scenery, cause sometimes the terrain just ... somehow ... distract and pure minis made me concentrate on them more. However ... scenery ... no scenery ... LOVE them both. Very very very cool entries!
I decided already ... but ... hoped for a tie. ;)
@ Admiral
like to know, where the minis are from, please. The style seems familiar, but couldn't nail it. Thanks in advance.
And thanks for two crisp entries!! I think, my favorite match this round.
-
The Admiral's figures are from Zombicide Black Plague. Lovely figures for 1 piece plastics, as the Admiral has demonstrated with his great entry.

As Freelancer already mentioned, these are the adventurers from the standard Zombicide: Black Plague box. The plastic miniatures don't look too impressive at first sight, but once undercoated all the little and sharp details will show. On the other hand - lots of fiddly and tiny things to paint ...
