I remember reading about Peter Cushing made his Napoleonic soldiers from paper, using molds. Are these type of molds still available? I would love to revive such a cool art? form! Thanx for any info!!!

No idea, but found this:

Love the cigarette at the end.
I suspect it'll be a water soaked slush that would be cast in two part molds and then dried before painting.

Following on from von Lucky's post, Cushing was a Member of the Model Soldier Society http://www.bmssonline.com/ you could try contacting them.

No direct correlation apart from it mentions toy soldiers & paper mache

But I wonder if they did not simply use available two-part molds and swap unavailable metal for available paper ?

this I suspect is bang on target.
It';s certainly much more feasible with 54mm figures than 32mm.

so now how wants to run a kickstarter for big boxes of cheap paper armies? lol
