For versatility / flexibility / value for money, we have designed Rick's Cafe as the core part of the range. The terra-blocks from Rick's Cafe set are then rearranged with a few additional blocks that make up the add on to transform them into either the Museum, The Riad or The Souk.

It just makes perfect sense. You could have beautiful diorama bases, but if they do not match the terrain the figures are standing on they look daft, so my regiments of 6 Napoleonic's based 40 to a base will be always be flocked green as 90% of the time they will be deployed on green terrain, but single figures will be on clear bases so they blend in.
You do not need to saw base off. I clip the metal base off with Games Workshop yellow handled clippers (other brands are available). I clip around the feet, remove the plinth, then clip across the foot, a quick file. Job done.
I doubt it takes a minute a figure. I certainly could not apply plaster, sand and flock in the time it takes to cut off plinth and glue to a clear base.
I have done some clear magnetic bases, by gluing figure to base then drilling hole under foot and inserting 3mm rare earth magnet.
Glad you like it Martin!
Here is a detailed photo of the set of three bookcases, (books included!)

This is part of the furniture set for The Museum of Antiquities. It's designed to fit inside the reading room at the back of the museum.

What do you think?
Is this the best option for Ilsa Lund in 28mm, or do you know of a better miniature to use?
Two options really. If you have not pledged yet, just add up what the pledge, i.e. 'All In' plus the extra comes to and enter that amount. Second option is just to pledge amount for main 'pledge', then when I send out the pledge manager spreadsheet next week you can add any extras in and I will just send Paypal invoices out for any difference.
... today, on my birthday is the official retail release for this range.
But it'll look proper grand when you've finished. Good luck.
Saturday at Hammerhead was the first chance that we had to put together an Exotic Location set with 4 x Rick's Place sets to have Rick's Place, Museum, Riad & Souk all on the table at the same time.

I am looking forward to seeing some photos of sets our backers have put together!

I've got as far as sticking together 2 of the basic sets and the extra bits for the Riad and Museum. It's been a bit of a busy week for other things.
Hopefully I can get the other bits assembled and start painting next week. Will post some photos once I've got somewhere.
That is coming along very nicely.
I do like your doors, I might need to go back over mine and give them the two tone treatment.
Are they just painted with Acrylic?
