My upcoming line of 2mm Horse and Musket figures
« on: 16 June 2017, 05:50:09 AM »
You can use my range of 2mm figures to re-create any battle in the horse and musket period at 1:1 ground scale, and with every soldier there on the day of the battle represented on the table top. That means 1:1 calvary, 1:1 artillery, and every bayonet point accounted for.  For those of us with budgets, you can also use these for seamless 3:1 games.  The buildings compliment the line of figures, and are in the exact same 2mm scale, so that you can make perfect scale models of famous BUAs with this range.  It is a living range, with new figures being added as often as possible.

Forward March Miniatures.

I'm still working on a website and some other fine points, and 3mm conversions of my buildings available in resin.  More information as I get it.

Also, this is a living range of figures.  If anyone has anything they would like to see done, let me know and I'll see if I can't get a model of it onto the store for you.  People have already recommended a few things that I've since made available, so don't hold back!

Thanks!
Microscales are the best.  This started out as a personal project, but so many people showed interest that I decided to make them available for sale.
My online store is here:  https://www.shapeways.com/shops/forwardmarchstudios.

Everything you need to play basic 1:1 microscale battles during any war in the Horse and Musket period is up already.  Additional codes to fill in gaps will be forthcoming.  Also a LOT of new buildings.

A few more shots here.
I've been messing around with a new lighting set-up.  It took a bit of time, but I think it's coming around.  I'm using a dual fluorescent daylight bulb set-up, which I think gives a much better quality of light, especially when a green mat is placed beneath it.

These pictures are of units set-up at 3:1 ground scale, which means that the frontage is half of 1:1.  A much more convenient way to use these figures, I think.  1' is 500m, so that on a 6' table both sides can start well out of artillery range.  This in turn lends itself to more historical maneuvering, and the ability of the players to choose where the battle is actually going to be fought, instead of lining troops up on either side and going directly at each other.
