Hello

Inspired by Dags and Tin Shed Gamer, and at the request of an out of town gamer pal I did a quick paint up of Tin Tin, Snowy and Capt Haddock, and a substitute Prof Calculus. Also pinted up a cople of other Tin Tin universe figures that I had.

We had a game to play Saturday, and running low on time I was just going to have my pal play a gangster league. Then at the last moment on Friday night (and again inspired by recent posts by others) I had to quickly paint up this group.

Sadly my friend found himself delayed in transit (he was flying in from Ireland, delayed 24 hours) so the league did not see any action, although the mutinous first mate did make an appearance.

Also added some pics of vehicles I am working on. Kind of fed up with the unpainted plastic stuff that I have been using, so even at the base stage I think they look a lot better.

They look really good. Is that a Black Cat Captain Haddock?  I'd like to see more of that table set up.

I believe they are Models of Yesteryear?
I keep finding them at flea markets, usually without a box, and there is nothing on the bottom of the vehicle to say who makes them. I did get a box set with 3-4 different vehicles in it, one of which was the tanker seen in an airport game posted here (somewhere on LAF) and on my blog.

Yes, thank you for reminding me where I got him from! I was recently on a spending spree, kind of lost track of what I bought and where I got it from. :)

More pictures coming soon for both dockside and Chinatown, see also LAF posting WIP

Wheels and tilts are wrong for Matchbox Models of Yesteryear, they look like copies of the MoY Crossley, which were produced in such large numbers that you can find them at reasonable prices all over the place.

You are right, I was going on my poor memory & as I mentioned there is nothing stamped on the bottom. I have found them without packaging for maybe $5.00 at a lot of flea markets.

My quick google search has yielded the following:
You can find the set, or individual models on ebay under the name Readers Digest Classic Trucks.
Hopefully the link will take you there.
