Here's a repost of my Winter War images which don't work anymore after I quit using Photobucket. A medly of completed things, and a test to see how well this works, really. I havent' managed to complete any new things, but I will get things going again this autumn.

Thanks guys! The snow was built up on the miniatures bases using super-glue and baking powder to build it up, and then adding a final scatter layer of product called 'Magic Snow' (no, not that kind of snow...) but that's OOP these days I think. The larger roof sections were covered first with a bit of blue foam which was then covered with white glue and baking powder, and again top layer of magic snow. The bases of the houses were built up with cork board. Oh yeah, and I used hot glue gun to add a little more 'organic' or random look to these.

I've read that baking powder may yellow in time, so I used different product for the top layer. It's kinda matte and granular but with the occasional sparkle. I've got some similar types of product from Noch, but I haven't tested that yet.

What scale are they, and who makes the German troops in snow camo?

Ahem, FINNISH troops in snowsuits you mean?

These are 20mm, the Finns are a mix of Fantanssin and Eureka (you can tell Fantassin ones by the oversized rifles). Soviets are from Combat Miniatures mainly.
