Broke of the Shannon and the War of 1812
« on: 14 October 2020, 09:26:25 AM »
The action between HMS Shannon and the USS Chesapeake was one of the most fierce and bloodily fought during the age of sail even though it lasted just eleven minutes.

If you would like to know more about this book covering the battle together with its wider impact on the war as a whole and its place in the history of the conflict, I have put together my thoughts after reading it.

Went to Amazon and read much of the first essay available as an online sample. I will order this book. Thank you for the heads up.
And the glorious general led the advance
With a glorious swish of his sword and his lance
And a glorious clank of his tin-plated pants. - Dr. Seuss
