nice old school vibe to them.

I recently purchased a few bits from them. Lovely clean sculpts with minimal flash etc, quick delivery too. Recommended.

Me too.
The exo-suits and robots are stunning and I really cannot wait to paint them.

Man, you aren't kidding.  I'm no big fan of GW's predatory business practices but being a remora is no better than being a shark.  They're clearly capable of original work, why make knock-offs?

I assume because there is a built-in market.  But I certainly agree - there is talent there!

The trolls are nice, but the most tempting things for me are a couple of those 'bots for Stargrave.

Because 90% of the market wants proxies for GW systems.
It sells, and some people are passionate about applying their creativity towards creating updated versions of old designs. It's why hasslefree have "not star wars" and "not chaos" miniatures, Why every kickstarter has some add on for adding thinly vieled TV show references into the system - People like what they already know and original IP sells far less than old IP.

The sci-fi stuff is based on Rogue Trader 40K designs from the late 80s. The old style dreadnoughts and robots haven’t been available for over 20 years. The demolition droid was never available from GW.  These tribute sculpts appear to be squarely aimed at the Oldhammer crowd rather than GW’s current customers.

Agreed, just don't want to see a company get into hassle. Hopefully you-know-who don't come across them or if they do recognise that there's no threat to their current business.
