Sad News from Legio Heroica
« on: 06 June 2021, 10:02:15 AM »

I'm very sad to have just learnt this morning of the recent passing of Giuseppe Barbazeni (http://www.legio-heroica.com/News-en.html). He was a wonderful chap to deal with and, in my opinion, made some of the best 15 mm figures around. Thoughts and condolences are with his family.

My apologies if this has already been posted somewhere else on the forum, I could not see it.

Very sad. :(

Any word on the future of the range? I'll admit I wasn't aware of his range and now that I'm looking at them I must say they look superb.

This is really terrible news, Giuseppe seemed such a nice guy and one of the good guys in the hobby, i painted plenty of his figures over the years and never had a problem with orders, and had great correspondence via e mails with him.
I send my deepest sympathies to his family at this sad time.

What a terrible news! Not unexpected, regretfully, but terrible and sad nonetheless! I have been Giuseppe's customer since he started Legio Heroica, and I can only have good words for him. He was a terrific chap, a great sculptor and always supported his clients. Each order I made, he always included a few extra models. When I learnt about his condition -lung cancer- I was not optimistic, but he always kept his hopes up.

But as his nephews have written in his website, he went down like a true wargamer: «Brushes still dirty, color jars left open, everything in his lab is saying that he’s going to come back in a few minutes.»

Rest in peace, my friend. You will be missed.
