Apache flesh tone

Men,

I just received some Apaches. I am not sure what color/ shade/wash  to use to paint their skin.

How do yinz do it?

I did mine with a dark red brown base and mid flesh highlights aiming for a “mexican “ look, going by historical photos though a darker leathery colour would be more accurate. But I’m not repainting them now!

I too use a darker red brown for base coats of Apache skin tones. I use Golden skin triads from Reaper to paint the rest of the skin from this base. I use the golden skin because native skin tones look more yellow than red, at least they do to me. Washes are the light shade washes from Army painter. By the way this triad works well for Aztecs as well.
