Fistful of Lead... Bigger Battles!
« on: 29 December 2021, 12:08:05 PM »
Got this little gem in mi' Crimbo stocking, might be the way I'll go for my new 'Pony Wars' project. It's got me cogitating as to whether there's a custom set of playing cards for this one. If not, wot's the best of the custom card sets to use with this member of the FFofL clan?

???

Any deck of cards will work, and we have 9 custom ones to choose from.

I just use regular cards, but one of my wargame chums uses Wiley Games' custom decks.  I must say, they are quite nice and handy...

Cap'n, I'm a big fan of Jaye's FFofL games. You can play all it's variants with a normal deck of playing cards. But the gaming experience is perfected when you use a custom deck, in my 'umble opinion. For example, here's the deck I've gleaned for 'Pony Wars'...

Yeah, I could see that would really add to the atmosphere around the table.
Does Oshiro games carry all these special card packs?
I am going to build a wargames army, a big beautiful wargames army, and Mexico is going to pay for it.

I just checked out the custom decks. Would make great gifts for pals for their favourite version of the game.

Allow me to clarify.  I use playing cards, but decks relevant to our games.  They aren't FFoL-published cards, but I have decks for the War of 1812, the ACW, WW2, and modern wars.  I still need to get/make cards for the old west, prohibition wars, and Vietnam.

And your old west cards look good!

But the "official" FFoL cards are spiffy......

I've printed and laminated small cards and give one to each player. The cards have the details of what 'special' playing cards and Aces can be used for...
works perfect, even for sprogs to FFofL.

Use a normal set of cards for every FFOL game.
Always great fun, and cheeky when you remember a special rule . Lol.
