This week I finished off my first tranche of militia that featured in a post illustrating the scratch build approach to building mass AWI militia proposed by the Perrys using their plastic Continental box set.

These are just the first batch and a proof of concept build before adding more such figures to allow a refight of Klock's Field at some time together with some campaign ideas for the Mohawk Valley frontier.

They work very well. Great work. I'm putting together a similar regiment for what I hope will be another AWI campaign using Perry plastics.
PS Perhaps it's General Schuyler and the militia marching into the county to disarm those  'malignant'
(ie. Loyalist) Scottish Highlanders living in those parts.

Thanks for the comments chaps, very much appreciated.

Ceeteegee - I see we are of like minds. This arena in the AWI is just perfect for looking at the small war side of the larger conflict. Good gaming with your own collection.

Cheers

My better half bought me a copy of WH Nelson's book The American Tory which is a gem of a book and introduced me to the Loyalist Americans as 3 dimensional characters as opposed to Pantomime villains ( Drums Along The Mohawk anybody?).
The club plays Rebels and Patriots with named characters and this provides a narrative to the play, and I much prefer this approach.

Hi Ceeteegee,
Your book reference is noted for my ongoing reading around this subject and I wholeheartedly agree. Likewise, I’m doing my best to get a clearer picture of the characters that led the rebellion in the area and the dynamics of the animosity between true two factions which as you say adds another level of intrigue to the game.

Cheers

Very nice!
Unfortunately the portrait of Marinus Willett that used to grace the Arms and Armor exhibit of New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art has gone back into storage, along with his presentation sword.
And the glorious general led the advance
With a glorious swish of his sword and his lance
And a glorious clank of his tin-plated pants. - Dr. Seuss
