Baron's War resources questions
« on: 25 April 2022, 10:26:09 AM »
I've put in orders with Northstar (Rulebook and supplement) and Footsore (about 500 pts worth of foot figures).

I've been scouring the net for resources.

Youtube has a paltry offering of:
1 solo battle report, 1 how to play video, 3 rulebook review/flip throughs and 1 rather nice video by Footsore covering movement and coherency.

I do have a basic grasp of heraldry so am ok with that for now.

I've already jumped in head first but can anyone provide information on what they think about the game or house rules they may be using? Or any blogs that cover battle reports and the like?

Thanks

There does not seem to be much in terms of battle reports and such yet unfortunately. If you use Facebook they have a pretty active Facebook group and Andy has said there are more how to play videos being worked on.

I believe they also have a website supporting the rules, that gives some additional rules and examples of retinues. I think it is called warhost.

For heraldry look at the Matthew Paris or Deering heraldic rolls, they are mostly the same families involved but at a later period, and will give you a start. The lord and his sons wear the heraldry, the bannermen wear his badge.
