Really like the look of your game.
Looks like a lot of back and forth between the two sides.

Looks good. How long did the game take to play?
And the glorious general led the advance
With a glorious swish of his sword and his lance
And a glorious clank of his tin-plated pants. - Dr. Seuss

Great looking game - these rules do intrigue me - but it is another period!

Regarding units fighting to the last stand, would it work if you kept units at the starting size of stands, and marked the loss of stands? Then its a bit more of a visual representation of loss of effectiveness, rather than a unit taking 75-80% casualties which the removal of stands look like?

Cheers for the comments, the games typically last 2 to 2.5 hours although we will be trying a longer and slightly larger game in the next couple of months.

Yes I reckon we could mark lost bases, take some thought though as they fire by base so needs to eb obvious which are still in play and which are not.
