Live Free or Die Playtest
« on: April 15, 2022, 10:59:36 AM »
We had a first playtest of Live Free or Die, enjoyed them, some interesting mechanisms, based around the old Loose Files and American scramble rules. After action report and lots of pictures here: https://gapagnw.blogspot.com/

Nice table - and not all flat!  Nice figures, too.  Never could get to grips with Loose Files rules, though.  Hope this version you are trying 'fixed' some of those elements that put me off - so long ago I don't even recall what it was!  Love the AWI.

Very nice, I do like the look of these rules and enjoyed the battles Little Wars put on their YouTube channel

Thanks guys, yeah I do think the kinks have been ironed out of loose files. Second game just played, will share when I have written up the post.

Interesting report mate, we played our second game last weekend and I'm really enjoying the rules. I like the 5 and 6 simplicity, the DMZs and the turn limits. We played Brandywine and if it hadn't been for the turn limit it would have been a British victory, as it was the rebels kept them off the hill for long enough.

"if it hadn't been for the turn limit it would have been a British victory": post mortem glorium, a common malady of wargaming, oh, what might have been!   lol.   And, yes, guilty of it many a time.  As to my Latin, well, think of it more as latinesque.
