Fistful of Lead: Robin Hood
« on: 05 September 2022, 09:57:55 AM »
I played a really fun two player game of Fistful of Lead on the weekend with a Robin Hood vs the Sheriff theme. My mate painted up the terrain and all of these really cool 'villager' figures & vignettes. We used my slave2gaming 'Merry Men' figures and Perry 'War of The Roses' figures for the opposing forces.

Because my mate doesn't post on social media I thought I'd add some photos of our game, if only to highlight his talent.

FFoL is a great system for designing your own scenarios and it's part of the hobby I really enjoy, especially if I can link it to movies or themes that have that 'cinematic feel'.

Apologies to any historical purists out there but I wrote up a game report on my blog if you're interested.

It's here: https://thisslapdashlife.blogspot.com/2022/09/fistful-of-lead-robin-hood-bloodbath-in.html

All the best.

Thanks for posting this. I really liked it and will certainly steal your scenario. When I get around finishing my Robin Hood figures that is.

Great write up, photos, terrain and game table. You both looked like you had an enjoyable time. Thank you for posting and sharing your work. I also read the other two FFOL write ups as well and enjoyed them.

Thanks for all the encouragement. It was a really fun game.

One thing I didn't mention in about the game (the possibility never came about) was a hidden unit of Maid Marian loyal followers - a unit of peasant kids - that would fight with D6s and only wound on a 10 with a D10...The Sheriff's men would lose VPs if they killed any of those kids as well.

Oh and another rule we worked out on the go....the Merry Men couldn't shoot into a unit if in close range of the villagers or Marian. It just made sense as we played it.

We are hopefully going to have a rerun this weekend, with four players.
