A Floral Peril

Just off my painting table, where it somehow took precedence over projects that need to be moved forward! I tried to paint the "flower" up as a tulip. I think that was only marginally successful and would appreciate any pointers on how I could improve.



Anyway, I think this would be suitably intimidating if encountered while chopping your way through the jungle.

Nice -- the sandy base reminds me of how true carnivorous plants evolved from poorly fertilized soil!

If you want *more* plants, see if you can find the Super Dungeon Explore expansions, which may finally be OOP.

The teeth and thorns are a nice touch. I have to steal that idea if I ever get around to touching up my Audries...!

Only thing I would have done is...

Brighter highlights for both red (Orange) and yellow and more of a merging of the two colours where they meet.

Really though, this is just fine as it is.

Thanks all for the comments and to ced1106 for the recommendation. Malcolm you are the master of blending and I doubt I could ever approach your efforts but I will take your advice into account. I really don't know if I have the patience to thin the paint down even more  Would you recommend another diffuse highlights or some more distinct highlights?

Good grief Lon if this is your idea of a tulip in Guam I'd hate to see the rest of the vegetation, it must be a really scary thing.....going for a walk in the country.

It would be nice to see this in a game on your table.

Going for a walk in the country on Guam usually requires a machete. Even then it will take you some time. A little bit longer if you run into one of these beauties
