My Zona Alfa table
« on: January 13, 2023, 12:31:46 AM »
Here is my build for a game based on "Roadside Picnic" by the Strugatsky Brothers. It involves collecting artifacts in the Zone, whilst avoiding other gangs, or government forces or the inhabitants of the Zone. Rules will be a modified combination of Zona Alfa and it's supplement Kontraband.

The terrain is almost entirely scratch built or 3D printed. So are the Zone creatures, and swarms and the scientists.

As you can tell, beer cans were used in some of the builds. Also the last picture is a 3D mis-print which was re-purposed as a ruined APC. The little green markers indicate potential "points of interest". They could turn out to be nothing, or alien artifacts of incredible value, or the belligerent inhabitants of the Zone.

Looks great.

I have to admit that a got a bit of a chuckle out of the first pic as there appears to be a rather large bare bum in the midst of it.

That is a great looking table. There's just something about the look of a scratch build that I love.

Nice work. That's a really grim looking zone

Where did the big humanoid mutant come from?

Nicely grim and very much in keeping with the desolation in the novels.
Well done.
We play quite a lot of Zona Alfa and Kontraband in a British Zone.

You have a sharp eye, my friend. At least that way you know the creature is moving away from you.

Hello Bullshot, it was your Zona Albion pictures that inspired me to show my game. Thank you.
As to the Mutant, it is a free stl file from Thingiverse. I printed out a few of his mutants :

And just for interest: The scientist to the right; without a Hazmat suit, is a 3D print of a figure representing Mel the Terrain Tutor. Beats me where I got that file

Great looking table! Jimmy Mutiepants reminds me of that shapeshifter thing from the new Xcom computer games.

The figure was included as part of the ks rewards for backers of his terrain book. I wasn't aware they'd released the stl separately.

Ahh, so you nailed it. I was a KS backer for Mel’s book. Totally forgot about the stl reward, however. Thanks for the info.
