Brandon's Cavalry

Colonel Thomas Brandon was a staunch Whig, who commanded his own Regiment of SC Militia.
Brandon was a large, powerful man and was a skilled fighter, both on horseback and foot.

Brandon's men had years of experience fighting against Torries on horseback. Other times, they rode to a battle and then dismounted to fight on foot.

At Cowpens, Morgan called for experienced horsemen to augment his Continental Dragoons.
Brandon and some of his men were picked to join the mounted men.
Brandon was credited with killing 3 British Dragoons that day.

I used a Morgan figure, by Perry, to portray Brandon.
As noted previously, Brandon was described as one of the largest men in the SC Militia.
His physical size closely matches Morgan's!
