Doc Thompson and The Curse Of Cairo A .45 Game Report
« on: August 15, 2007, 03:26:56 PM »
Ring....Ring....

"Hello, Am I talking to Doc Thompson ?"
"Yes, who is there ?"
"I have Information for you. It is urgent. Meet me at 8 pm at the Burton Sanatory."

Klack

Doc Thompson is curious he calls his friends Daisy Bevoir and Reginald Striker to join him. Who was the caller and what information has he. Our Hero puts on his best suit and is on the way...

Suddenly Thompson is attacked with a bottle by a huge man full of muscles and a fearsome look on his face.

The area is crowded by Cultists of the Phoenix Lord. " Help me Doc , Help me.... " Thompson sees somebody dragged away into the dark.
"Cairo.... Cairooooo "

Doc Thompson and his fellas arrive in Cairo with the SS Ramona

" Look there Reggi .... The guy there by  the car.... I recon his face... "

Meanwhile Mustaffa Ali Jazeera offers the magical tricks of his 11th son Jula
to the bystanders.

Ok...I found a car...but we need a driver.... Has anybody seen the driver ?

Two bad guys appear. One big bouncer and a small guy with a machine pistol. RATATATATATATAT he lets it go on the Doc. The heroes jump for cover.

The Doc runs on top of the light house. He is followed by one of the bad guys. Ibrahim is not the humorous type of guy and so the Doc must fight for his life. Grade 3 wins over Grade 1 in a heck of a blow.

"Aiiieeeeeiiiiih "

Sister Sarah ( in the background ) sends a handful of prayers.

Reginald Striker didnt find a driver but some keys and takes aim on the mad gunner.

With lightning reflexes the bad boy jumps out of the way. The driver hits the brakes but too late. Reggi tastes some egyptean dust.

"Damn it....The Cultist escaped again. We have to follow them ? Can you drive us umbrella man. "

Our heroes follow the cultists deep into Cairo. They drive on small roads pass mysterical people and see obscure shops full of curiosities. When they finally come to a halt. They must be here somewhere in this strange place.

( yummy german beer in the background )

"Come with me my friends we must find there secret hide and stop them from doing evil things."

Right in the middle of Cairo they found a mystical pyramid. they say its only the top a a huge city beneath Cairo. Evil signs are written into the stones. more than 15000 years of age.

"There it is. The home of the cultists. What smoke comes out of the roof. it is purple, green with a yellowish slimey green tone of pink....it cant be....its magic....run my friends "

Doc Thompson stops the monstrous creature with his head but he can not stop the cultist leader to escape and do more evil things.

Maybe he performs better next time when  Doc Thompson encounters The Revenge on the Curse of Cairo.

About the Story.
Part 1 Doc Thompson had to find the secret caller. To get information about cultists in Cairo. The cultists were quicker.

Part 2 The Heroes arrive in Cairo need to find a Taxi driver in maximum 10 rounds to follow the cultists into there hideout. They didnt make it. They needed 15 rounds for that. A poor performance especially when the evil guys had only 2 figures each with grade 1.

Part 3 The Doc Thompson players simply had to stop the cult leader to bring a magical item off the board.

Due to the bad result of part 2 the evil guys were able to get some more support and a magical spell to create a creature from the dark worlds. Anyway.... the good guys  failed again.

I am not sure if Doc Thompson is a hero or a dud. I hope he can do better next time.

Figures : Witchhunter, Zoogla

Now if only I could box all that up and cart it off to GenCon with me. I'd bes ure to win hundreds of converts!

Great report. And I have to agree, Doc Thompson has not been very lucky (though looking like Groucho Marx could have something to do with it).

Great stuff! Nice beer too by the look of it....
They were all drawn to the Keep; the soldiers who brought death; the father and daughter fighting for life; the people who have always feared it; and the one man who knows its secret....

I want Sister Sarah on my side. The hand of God was plucking up that one fellow by his penny loafers!

Great, Great, write up. Can't wait to see more.

Wow, cool report.   Very inspiring for painting, and coincidentally I have most of this evening set aside to paint. :)   I do have to agree with Oper 5, I think being a Groucho Marx look alike doesn’t help.  I am not one to judge on looks but I wouldn’t worry too much about meeting Doc Thompson in a dark alley.  Keep up the game reports, I love reading them.

Great report Bjoern!

Here are some pics that didn't make it to the report!
These were actually 3 different games played back to back in one night:

Here's an overview of the Burton table (first scenario):

An overview of the Cairo dockside (second game):

And an overview of the final Cairo table:

And this one I find a bit funny!  Reggie speeding towards the baddie with the Thomson SMG.  Note how Mr Ali Jazeera can keep up even while standing still!

Very cool AAR.
Poor Doc, bad luck seems to dog him.
Maybe he can kick back and have one of the beers. ;)
Thanks for sharing.
