Final Fantasy skirmish?

What game might be good for a Final Fantasy flavoured skirmish? I'm thinking the mixed part of character classes, the tactical positioning/combos... and the over-the-top attacks that can happen (like summoning powerful spirits).
Would it best be served by using some crunchy RPG combat rules?

Also, besides old Anima Tactics figures, what other lines have that sort of JRPG/fantasy anime flair?

I knew there was a specific ruleset that was inspired by Final Fantasy Tactics, never played it myself though.

I only got to try a demo of Endless with the author, but it really does feel like Final Fantasy Tactics on the tabletop.

Whoa... those are pricey... and they're resin (a no-go for me). But they are nice sculpts.

I did pick up a copy of Endless and am slowly having a read-through. Not exactly what I'd envisioned, but it's winning me over to its approach.
