A brief post about Manet's paintings of the Kearsage-Alabama fight and the Union sloop at anchor https://corlearshookfencibles.blogspot.com/2023/11/manet-uss-kearsage-and-css-alabama.html

And the glorious general led the advance
With a glorious swish of his sword and his lance
And a glorious clank of his tin-plated pants. - Dr. Seuss
