Anything with Donald Sutherland should be good.  Now, as to Bass Reeves being the greatest lawman, well, that's quite a stretch.  Good, even very good, even one of the top 10 or 20 'legendary' lawmen - but best is very debatable.  I guess just have to allow for Hollywood hyperbole.  Best black lawmen is probably a reasonable claim.  Only challenge is it is a streaming service and I haven't crossed that bridge just yet.  Maybe it will eventually make its way to DVD.

I will not be able to see it either. I agree, not the best lawman ever but very good.

Hard to say.  He might be even better than the Hollywood version.  How much do we really know about him and what else did he accomplish that never made press?

As for the rankings as to the best or most famous I don’t know how that could e objectively determined

Was surprised to find the first two episodes on broadcast TV last night, watched them both.  The first was all background on the Reeves character and the second got him into the lawman mode.  Wasn't bad, some parts pretty good.  Opened with a better than expected showing of the Battle of Pea Ridge though I'm not sure the people who made the show know who won that battle!?  I would watch more episodes but I don't know that I would chase them down.  Must keep in mind I'm not a big fan of TV, more of a movie buff; I refer to TV as entertainment for unfinished dead people.
