Helion's Asia at War Series - any good ?
« on: 17 March 2021, 11:35:22 AM »
Had an advert through for their new book Into the Iron Triangle. Always being a sucker for a Huey on the front cover I wonder how good a read / informative the series is in general given the relatively low page total and high number of photos in each volume. Has anyone got some of the titles and care to let me know if worth the price please?

Thanks in advance
Tony

I have a number of their Africa @ War and Middle East @ War series and I think they're worth it.

If you don't know much about a topic they're an excellent entry point and quite dense in terms of information being offered, where applicable they even come with some colour plates for armoured units etc.

I get the impression they're an attempt to bring academic style literature to a more general audience and would say they're generally quite successful in that regards.

Thanks Brummie for the reply, much appreciated. Will give it a go then as  only read a little on Iron Triangle in memoirs.

Cheers
