Can someone pease offer some advice on how to make painting pinstripes easier.

Do you use a paintbrush or pen? Any tips would be appreciated.

I do them something like this. Light stripes on dark base turns out better than the other way around with this method.

It is much easier to accomplish a thin pinstripe by retouching the base colour rather than trying to paint a superfine stripe from start.

1. Paint a base colour, shade and hilite as usual.
2. Pencil in the stripes (using a sharp lead pencil). Don't worry to much about straightness, just make sure you space the lines horizontally as evenly as possible.
3. Paint in the stripes using a rather thin light paint on the best, long #000 pencil you have.
4. Using the base colour, tidy the stripes, again, try to focus on getting them appear as evenly spaced as possible.

Don't worry, if stripes 'disappears' in folds and crevices. They look like that IRL to.

I never thought of drawing them on with a pencil first - that should be a little easier.

Will give it a go soon.

Great guide - thanks!
