You mention Rob using a slightly different set up. Was that part of your play testing or is there an option to tweak your forces a little in the rules?

Yes, the English HYW Retinue is quite flexible. Great stuff. Is that particular to that setting or is there some flexibility in the WOTR retinues too?

Yeh...some! TBH many of the play testers are using various mixed bags with success. There are rules for mercenaries which anyone can use although you lose prestige. Eventually there will be Retinues for all the armies mentioned in Billhooks and some time in the future, Ruckus will tackle early medieval and ECW
