Hinterland test scheme and a freehand seven
« on: 02 October 2011, 09:49:05 AM »
I've been having a first decent go at painting yellow for my Hinterland test scheme (as part of my VBCW army), and this is the initial look, with a few details still to be added:

Also this is the freehand seven I've painted on Massachusetts:

It's very hard to get a good yellow(good job) Try undercoating with a gray or white when doing yellow, black makes coverage even harder IMHO

Very bold colour scheme but doesnt look too garish

Excellent "7", I would be more than happy with that

I'm having trouble judging the Hinterland test scheme in its uncompleted state.  It will certainly be a unique combination though.  Can't wait to see one done.

Well I'll do me best mate, but don't get your hopes up.  The end result is more likely to resemble a car crash than a Cezanne.

It looks like you got a vibrant yellow and blue, despite the black undercoat. Have you tried a white or gray primer, basecoat the brights, and done the lining later with a thinned color?

I'd like to do a second batch of Hinterland with a bright scheme.
