I caved in today and bought the Pulp Alley 2nd Edition PDF rulebook and ordered these miniatures from Crooked Dice, as an initial taster of this setting:

Street Heroes (The Ghost and Reporter)
Crusading Crimefighter
Fixer
Academic

I have skimmed through the rules and think I've grasped most of it, but I wanted to check. Am I correct in that the Shooting and Fighting doesn't require an Action in itself? You can Move (up to 6"), interact with a Plot Point AND engage in combat with an enemy? In the same Activation? Or have I missed something?

Regards,

Legionnaire.

The most important thing in the hobby is that you're having FUN! Doesn't matter if you win or lose.

On the back cover is a simple turn sequence; it says you may perform an action or attack. To me, that means you have to pick one.

Also, nice miniature choices.

To my defense, I was skimming through the book so thank you for the clarification.

Thank you sir! Been playing around with some abilities and such, but not settled on them yet. Here are my thoughts so far:

The Wraith (leader) - Cloud Mind, Wealthy, Two Guns
Lady Danger (sidekick) - Daredevil, Speedy
Lulubelle Montcrief (ally) - Sly
Ibrahim Mousakka (ally) - Inventor (more like procuring stuff than actually making them himself)
Hamish Oglesby-Winterbottom (ally) - Harmless

For the 10th roster point I'm  considering taking the Resourceful Perk. Obviously, providing I've understood those rules correctly  lol.

Regards,

Legionnaire.

Painted up the first minis! Really not a fan of slotta bases, so cut the tabs off and stuck the figures on round perspex bases instead.

The figures are all from Crooked Dice.

Thank you very much sir! I looked very much forwards to get them painted, not so much to try to rebase them. It helps I almost exclusively use Armypainter Speed Paints so I get them done reasonably quickly.

That's a great start to your project!

Thank you sir! With the pictures, I saw a spot or two that I'll be touching up.

I have ordered the Pulp Alley Tong league and a couple of bits from TT Combat that will be the start. I have seen several MDF buildings from Warbases that I will order next month to keep things ticking away and have given myself a timeline of having most sorted by end of July.

Legionnaire.

I'm with you -- I can't stand slotta bases! If I were going to go back and start over, I would go with the clear bases like you have done, too. Nice start!

Thank you Mike!  My biggest problem with slotta bases is that I find it very difficult to find a spot on the feet that's big enough to get the glue to stick well too. I happened to have these clear bases laying around so went with them.

Slotta annoys me because there's almost always gaps I have to fill or work with. I just want bases to work.

And so the collection begins...

My last bits that I've ordered to get this new project off the ground arrived today  :). I aim to have scenery that can double for Chinatown, Beijing and mythical cities in the Far East. Will order building from Warbases as they are distinctly Chinese, but that Ochaya Garden model was just to beautiful to pass up on  :-*. The resin bits are TT Combat with temple dogs and a Buddha statue amongst them.

I aim to have it all ordered, assembled and painted by end of June/ early July but currently I'm having back issues and other commitments affecting the hobby time, so we'll see how that goes.

Legionnaire.

I like your set up and hope it all comes together well. I look forward to seeing what you create!

By the way, Oshiro https://www.oshiromodels.co.uk/ also makes good Chinese buildings and scatter terrain.
