Legionnaire newbie Old West stuff.
« on: March 18, 2013, 11:52:06 PM »
Here goes, I have seen some really astounding stuff here and I have got nothing that can compete. Still, I wanted to show some of my humble efforts, comments and critique are more than welcome. The minis are awaiting varnishing and basing.

Fine looking bunch! I like the your use of colours although the lawmen seem to use same tailor? ;) :D

So are these all Black Scorpion?

Good looking models.

And plenty of color too!

Thanks for sharing.
I know you're too old to play with toy soldiers. So give them to me... NOW!

Lawmen are Artizan......the three with the same tailor. Have them on my painting tray right now.
Have fun storming the castle! ...and that really isn't me you know...

Gothic Project: leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=55943.0 - although on pause atm as too much RL stuff getting in the way.

Some great stuff there, Legionnaire!
 :-*

The Lawman may use the same tailor, but the other guys have a certain flair about them.
 ;)

Really glad to see that the Artizan are not dwarfed too much by the Scorpion fellas as I have a few Artizans that I really like and now I know that they will work fine with the stuff ZZ sent me.

I have Artizan and Black Scorpion as well and they fit quite well together.
If you put them next to each other there's a size difference but on the gaming table it become hard to see the difference.

Just like real life then.....

Good to know, Treebeard.
Thank you!

As so many of you have correctly pointed out, my Old West minis are Black Scorpion and a few Artizan. The collection is but small at the moment (20 odd minis) but I plan on buying more soon...

Thanks for the positive comments on the colours. I just feel it gets a bit... boring to only paint in drab brown/ black/ dark colours, still try to keep them somewhat dark in tone.

Little did I anticipate my three lawmen to be the subject of so much discussion  :), the way I see it, they could be the Earps (or any other similarly close knitted family) and with "Tombstone" in mind I opted for a simple, similar colour scheme, the difference is the colour of their tashes...

The tailor in my town may be colour blind at times and constructing garish combinations, but the good citizens have to take it or be seen in their Unmentionables (bare lead!!!) His brother is the barber and together they rule with an iron fist (purple shoes and puke green scarf with a haircut just like so... muahaha)
