Hi,

I have difficulties to find cold war french, for Seven days to the river Rhine. I'd like to find 10mm scale figures. Metal, plastic or even STL for 3D printing.

Advises for other nato nations are welcome.

Thank you for your help.

Pendraken have only done US and Soviet troops so far.

Their French are 1950s for Vietnam so I guess too early for you

yes, I'd like to find FAMAS rifle infantry. For the tanks and vehicles, with 3D printing it should be OK, but I cannot find infantry.

thanks

Was going to suggest Red3, but they only do a 120mm mortar for infantry, and only the AMX-13/75 for armour. {They do a nice range of Dutch however.}

https://www.red3miniatures.co.uk/product-category/france/

Not sure what else to suggest. Not all units had FAMAS so perhaps using 2nd rate line/conscripts/reservists with MAS49/56 (which looks like any other bolt-action rifle in 10mm), using the Viet-Minh war French Pendraken VMF1 etc, with Argentinian GPMG gunners pack FLA9 for your AA52 LMG; Argentinian 90mm RR FLA21 for 89mm LRAC teams, and Falklands war British Milan teams FLB32 (file the netting off the helmets) for your Milans. Mortars and .50" HMG can be used from any of those ranges.
Not ideal but might get you started.

Mark

I'm waiting for the delivery of the ruleset and orbats to make my figures list.

thank you,

I finally place an order for 6mm armies. Both french and soviet from Heroics and Ros. I'll let you know.

I already received my rulebook (and a few things for iron cross).

I received my figures from Heroic and Ros. French and soviets. Really pleased with the figures and overall service.

I'll base the afv single based and the infantry by 5 figures on each base. Should give good looking units.

I had a load of H&R Modern French stuff back in high school, which was during the actual Cold War lol

I'm not French, but I did like the look of the vehicles. Sadly I lost them decades ago (although there's a tiny possibility they're in a corner of the loft somewhere)

my favorite is the AMX 10 RC recce afv. With the 6 wheels and big gun, it looks pretty cool !

Sundayhero, good call on the SDttRR rules. I ran a game with them yesterday and we really enjoyed it. Use the biggest table you can and have plenty of cover, be it buildings or broken ground. Apart from hand held AT weapons there are unrestricted weapon ranges ( which may be unrealistic with 6mm models on a large table....) so what can be seen can be hit and killed. We played an early 1980s game with Leo1s, T55s and Centurions so no "supertanks" and  they  all "died" pretty easily.

thanks, I specifically choosed 6mm because my table is small (180X130cm). Maybe to play the game in centimeters instead of inches ?

Changing to cm won't have much effect as the weapon ranges in SDttRR are unlimited. That's why I say the big issue is to break up lines-of-site.

Yes, lines of sight are unlimited, but moving things in centimeters (and having nice scenery obstacles) may make the game more adapted to small board (180x 130cm) ?

I don't know yet since I didn't try the game already.
