WiP Games and Miniatures
« on: 31 May 2025, 11:19:06 PM »
Hi

This morning, I have been looking at the website for WiP Games and Miniatures, in particular their Sea Peoples figures.

Does anyone have any experience of dealing with these guys, pictures of their figures, etc?

They certainly look nice on their website and I am a little bit tempted............

Any feedback greatly appreciated.

Phil

There's a post on our On Bloody Ground Facebook page Phil. It's about our 28mm Greeks, but still useful as an overall impression of the figures.

In case you don't do FB, here's the review from Alan Pospiech:

These 28mm ancient Greek metal figures are a fantastic addition to any historical wargaming collection. The crisp detail on each model—from finely sculpted armour to expressive facial features—is truly impressive. The range offers a broad selection, covering hoplites, light infantry, slingers, and cavalry units, allowing for dynamic and historically accurate armies. The variety of poses adds realism and movement, capturing the intensity of ancient battle formations. Clean up is minimal, with very little flash or mould lines, making preparation quick and easy. Overall, these figures combine quality, variety, and ease of use—ideal for both painters and gamers who appreciate finely crafted miniatures. They  offer great value for money especially as they now offer unit builder deals . My one preference would be for cast on shields to be available.

I'd like to point out that I've known Alan for many years, and we've gamed together for a long time, but his review is his totally independent view of our minis (I didn't even know he'd done it until this morning!), and I have absolutely no doubt that he would have no issue with saying the figures were utter crap, if that was his opinion, and I respect him for that!

I hope that might be some help!
Dave

I bought a load of Greeks in bulk when WIP first started up (still not painted)
Nice figures not super fussy detail the order arrived quickly.
I would certainly order from them again.
I am going to build a wargames army, a big beautiful wargames army, and Mexico is going to pay for it.

2019 Painting Challenge :
figures bought: 500+
figures painted: 57
9 vehicles painted
4 terrain pieces scratchbuilt

I don't know about the Sea People but one notable thing I liked about the WIP Greeks is that they have a relatively small footprint which makes them really easy to Rank up in a tight phalanx.

They're very nice Greeks and Persian.  Uncluttered style.
