Work has continued with my AWI project seeing the addition of the Delaware 'Blue Hens' to the collection of Continental infantry regiments.

With such a famous regiment most AWI enthusiasts are likely to want to include them in their line up at some time, and with a battle record second to none they are likely to get an opportunity to get out on the table in one scenario or another.

A beautifully painted and characterful unit. Also much enjoyed reading the regimental history.

Hi Chaps,
Thanks for your comments, much appreciated.

The mounted officer is a nice pose and is one of the Perry mounted American militia officers.

Cheers

Lovely! My Delaware lads are painted as Kirkwood's in rifle shirts and striped trousers. Not near as well done as yours.

Poor Kirkwood. He died at the disastrous Battle of the Monongahela in 1791, when Little Turtle and Blue Jacket routed St. Clair's army.
And the glorious general led the advance
With a glorious swish of his sword and his lance
And a glorious clank of his tin-plated pants. - Dr. Seuss

Hi and thank you.

I am very much enjoying my deep-dive into the characters behind these American units, with our hobby of historical gaming providing a wonderful insight into history and the people that played key roles in the creating of it, including the ordinary chaps that formed the units themselves, as I enjoy recalling this stuff when seeing them out on the table.

Cheers

This message is brought to you by The Department of Pedantry.  I believe you mean the Battle of the Wabash?  I apologize for being so fussy.  I will say that the site is only a couple hours from where I live, and it's worth a visit should one get the chance.

And, that is one good-looking unit.

Yep, brain flatulence. Wabash is indeed where Kirkwood met his demise. Still have jet lag from the trip to Iceland.

No worries.  Hope I wasn't being too pedantic...

Iceland is on our "Some Day" list....
