The World Turned Upside Down - Rebel Militia Brigade
« on: July 05, 2025, 07:44:59 AM »
My recent focus on building up my AWI collection to produce some larger battles in time for the forthcoming commemoration of American Independence, and perhaps timely given the 249th commemoration yesterday, I have upgraded my Tryon and Albany County Militia, completed earlier as part of my Mohawk Valley project to enable them to appear on a larger table as battalion type units, complete with colours.

The sabot basing I am using for these units should enable a more seamless way of adapting them for large or small actions where colours may or may not be required and indeed when these units can be used to represent Rebel or Tory militia as well as motley Continentals if the need arises.

Nice work, loving the basing idea, I elected to do 50x 50 with odd number of figures and some 50x25 for skirmishers for my militia.

I am in need of revisiting my collection this year also to be ready for the start of the anniversaries next year. More militia and continentals needed for me also.

I am tempted to purchase the Wargames Atlantic minutemen but not sure if they will match my perry or eureka regiments.

Cheers
Matt

Hi Matt,
Thank you.

I started my 28mm collection focussed towards a large skirmish game, but have wanted to be able to easily convert the collection for large battles and so the low profile sabots from Supreme Littleness Designs that I had started with seemed a very practical solution, and their more formed options enable an easy change of my units into the look I was after, that plus a few colour bearers and drummers.

Cheers
JJ
