we are, maybe, on the same boat.
Nobody make in 3D or even in resin some essential and very simple scenic items that would be very useful for wargame scenarios set in Middle East, North Africa, Muslim infuenced East Africa as the village you mentioned..
All the available scenics that i've seen on the web seem to have been conceived with fantasy type games in mind or by designers not capable of doing an appropriate historical research...
With just 2 or 3 basic items we would be able to convert everything, including buildings, castle walls, strongholds ecc for our Colonial settings involving berbers, arabs, swaili, foreign legion , méharistes, somali warriors against Italians or British, East Africa WW1 and WW2 ecc..
We just need :
- An historically realistically shaped gate
- maybe a desert tent
- and, above all, some simply designed batlements ...(correctly designed small strips of those typical battlements put on top of a box shaped piece of blue foam will give you a Somali, Dervish, Moroccan, Swaili or Slavers stronghold)
