Ok I have traced it, the games system was called "No Go Zone" by Warm Acre. Just checked their site, lots of Brit cops in regular gear, suitable for day to day ARV use, some riot cops and lots of hooligans and crims. Surprised not to have seen it on here before, or I missed it. Worth a look I would suggest to get what you need. Having done it for 32 years, I can tell you that ARV crews in, London anyway, do not patrol in full gear as a rule, but normal Police uniform. They usually only dress up for a job, or planned op. Hope this helps a bit.
They will not force us,
They will stop degrading us,
They will not control us,
We will be victorious!!

Thanks for that, Trooper, they are on my list for Salute, have looked at them before but now see how I can use them. Will match them with G36c's from Hasslefree. If you have any more insights into your service, etc, it would be helpful. BTW, was only a city-based Special for 4 years a while ago, just to say, thanks for what you and all officers do to keep the country a little bit safer.

Its not that helpful, but at Salute last year I saw a demo game, with paper Police vehicles and a two street layout. But they had Police figures that might fit the bill, excuse the pun, trouble is, I'm jiggered if I can remember the name of it, but as I recall they were launching the whole package as a new system. They also had civilian types there too.

I know the game (No go zone) Police and first responders against chavs (gang warfare). The figures are standard plod etc (stab vests) but nearer 25mm and not very good either:

Grimjack, your welcome, though as the Commander says, they are not the best figs in the world. As for technical advice now I'm retired I have plenty of time to gas about my glory days. I was in armed response for a large part of my service. And thanks for your kind words.

Grimjack, if you are looking at the Sloppy Jalopy vehicles, don't forget the humble Humber Pig as they are/were used by the Civil Nuclear Constabulary.

How about a 4 feet 10 inch (1.47m) Civil Nuclear Constabulary policewoman with a G-36?

Standing next to the Land Rover she looks like a 20mm mini with a 1/43 car!
Back from the dead, almost.

Lol, the joys of doing away with the height restrictions. Saw lots of mini cops, male and female, during my last few years. Strange though, they always had to call on us older freakishly tall people to sort stuff out.

Although at the CNC, or indeed in any armed unit, I can't imagine height's a problem:

"STOP - ARMED POLICE" is enough to get me, at least, to stop regardless of height, strength, or age.

And even in general ruckus, there's always pepper spray and the asp...

Anway, to get back on topic, I too would like to see some properly attired British plods - both standard beat and armed response types.

A PSU would be good, too. Oh, and a police dog unit. And maybe a surveillance unit, you know, the types with cameras at demonstrations.

I've got a set of their police, so I can attest to the no go zone minis being a little on the small side and not being great sculpts.

Anyone have any suggestions for EMT figures--No Go Zone does some, but wondering if anyone knew of any alternatives?

Just as an aside, and its not about figures. Check out some of Vanguard's diecast Police vehicles. They are nicely in scale for 25-28mm, and they do modern vehicles as well as the older types. I think they do a PSU carrier and a dog van. I will post some pics when I have 'em, of some I have.

Have just bought some cheapie vehicles from Wilkos (command and control caravan and 4x4), plus Boyes (silver police vehicles, discovery 3, fire engine) - aiming to use some Offensive Miniatures and TAG baseball cap SWAT for a game. The vehicles cost me £15 and they had plenty of civilian stuff, plus a lovely steam engine with sounds! If you want to run a modern/near future game, I reccommend them if only due to low cost. Will also mix in the stuff I have for Geezers!, mostly raided from parent's attic.

Trooper, any phtos or insights you can send my way or post here, please do so. PM me if it helps.

Very interesting, though I'd be willing to bet that my local Wilkos won't have anything of interest  >:(

Well worth a try, though  ;)
