What a great Posse, I had a quick scan through the rule book which Dewbakuk let me have a peek at and would echo the production values which looked superb, I havent had a look at the context of the rules but it has me intrigued.

As for the figures I have quite a few I use for Deadlands as Dewbakuk has already said they fit in very well with the Weird West steampunk theme.

My Marshalls are used as Hanging judges and a mean bunch they are too on the table lol and though 3 are rather strong it does frighten the bejesus out of the players ;)

Yup you cant beat them :D

I do find however for some one who is very average painter that these were quite hard to paint being so dainty it didnt match my base colour, drybrush, wash and highlight technique. But they are cracking minis and too good not to use or be afraid of painting lol

Three hanging judges at once? I hope you have some lawmen in the party!

I may hold off on painting the figures until I have a read of the background.

The noteworthy bit of background for these guys is that they are necromancer hunters and are fully trained in the necromantic arts themselves. The use of necromancy corrupts the soul and as such most necromancers are insane. The Death Marshals are trained in necromancy but are forbidden from using it. As such they have full use of their faculties but their constant interaction with it has corrupted their bodies, leaving them with a wasted look, similar to that of the creatures they hunt.
So many projects..... so little time.......

That was pretty much exactly the vibe that I was getting from the figures and the character cards that they were supplied with, but I wasnt sure if the Marshals were supernatural themselves.

That helps me to make a few decisions regarding colour schemes, thanks.

I plan to use the same figs for the same reason and then for the other 2 Judges perhaps these:

Yeah, I have to admit I've always liked the Pistol Wraiths a lot!

In fact, I rather like a lot of PP's models (I do have a number of -unpainted- armies for their games!), and have used them for proxies in various other games.

I have a modified Seth Alkot, Monster Hunter to use as Hans the mercenary sniper for Malifaux, and he's about halfway done. He's on the backburner a bit at the moment, but I might try and get him done sooner... ;)

I love the concept of the Malifaux setting and think the rules are very cool - so much so that the fiancee and I have invested in two rule books, two decks of cards, and four factions (two Resurrectionist and two Neverborn). But I'm having a heck of a time getting past the painting of these minis. They're so detailed - and I'm not a great painter at my best - that I feel like I'm doing them a disservice when I take a brush to them.

It's downright frustrating...  >:(
