15mm ACW Vignette
« on: 19 March 2010, 12:54:57 AM »
Hi,
I just thought I'd share some photos of my latest 15mm vignette I painted some weeks ago.

I used a 15mm Essex Miniature ACW Stretcher Bearer and 1/300th scale Adler Miniature ACW Artilleryman as the child. Adler Miniatures are a little larger than 1/300th scale and I think he works well. I had planned to add a discarded rifle behind the soldier but felt that it would over do it so just went with the discarded backpack and Kepi. The stick behind the child is meant to be a toy wooden rifle. It's kind of shaped as such but it doesn't come up well in the photo. Now I'm working on the Confederate counterpart.

I've got some additional photos of some of the pieces I've made over the past year in my Photobucket album if people are bored and want to take a look: http://s92.photobucket.com/albums/l12/LeadBear/Miniatures/

Thanks for looking.

Really nice stuff :-*

Are they all 15mm?

Thanks  :)

The miniatures from and including the 3 Confederate prisoners posing for the photographer and some on page 2 are 1/300th scale miniatures by Adler Miniatures. Although they're advertised as 1/300th scale they are a little larger being around 8mm.

Excellent lateral thinking to use that Adler figure as a 15mm child  8)

They do have very large heads and are perfect for this.
