Decent 'Beau Geste' Foreign Legion?

Hi,
Can anyone recommend some good quality 28mm scale Beau geste style French foreign legion figures? Also, when did they stop wearing that style of uniform?

Redoubt (http://www.redoubtenterprises.com/) have their March or Die range, although they are on the large side and Old Glory have a decent range too (the two ranges are definitely not compatible though!).  I have the Redoubt figures and was given some Old Glory but they look very odd next to one another.

The 'Beau Geste' style uniform with the blue capote was worn up to around the start of the first world war I think, although by then it was being mixed with the khaki colonial uniform which came in around 1910ish rather than the iconic white.  There are a number of detail changes between the turn of the century and later uniforms but I suspect you could probably get away with some variation due to the vagaries of supply in North Africa!

Have seen pics of the classic uniform worn in the early 20's but it was rare after WW1. As has been said they adopted khaki drill in the 1900's and then Horizon Bleu and Khaki for their woolen uniforms. As Al rightly says post 1914 anything went uniform wise due to shortages so you could use them for the 1920's especialy the white version which survived a surprisingly long time.

Unfeasibily Miniatures did some lovely figures that would be perfect, sadly I have just tried to find their website and it appears to have disappeared, so my response is not much help. If you can track them down second hand it would be worth the effort.

I use Old Glory and Askari  both mix well and the odd Foundry Franco-Prussian war figure thrown in . Castaway do Foreign Legion and Arabs , Have some of their camel riders , very nice !

I originally went with them and ordered but had to put a dispute through PAYPAL as nothing turned up. Must have finally closed the site.

Thanks all for the info. Looks like I will have to change my plans as wanted Foreign legion for VSF but also pulp style 20's and 30's play. Quite like the Artizan ones for the post WW1 era.

Yeah Artizan are excellent for that post war look, very nice and there is even more choice now with Gripping Beasts WW1 French. Can use different headgear too as they make the sun helmets as well as kepis.

Hello, the bleu coat with white coton trousers and jacket belong until 1913-14. at this date (1913)in marrocco, the FFL where "light khaki" coton trousers and jacket like "troupes coloniales" (= marines) with pith helmet pattern 1886, dyied khaki.For Gallipoli, the legion came with dark blue coat with khaki coton dress and pith helmet. the "bleu horizon" dress came middle of 1915 and khaki wool dress at the begenning of 1916. The pattern 1901 coton khaki dress belong until 1920-30.
